DANIEL

I can't deny the fact that I love this new thing going on between Marc and I.

The constant flirting - mostly from me which makes him turn all shades of red - chaste kisses here and there and waking up with him wrapped around my arms as he slept peacefully. If this is a dream then I don't want to wake up from it.

This morning we quickly got prepared for the day - when I mean quickly I mean we had snoozed the alarm clock like 5 times and the clock now showed 7:20am which means we had only 10 minutes left till school started.

We dressed similarly today, Black turtle necks - to hide the hickeys, black long pants and a matching almost too long against the school dress code black jacket with a pair of white Nike Air Force. I guess they call it couples goals or something like that.

We quickly came down stairs to get breakfast to go but Marc was ahead of me and he suddenly stopped for no reason.

I caught up to him and equally got frozen in place.

"G-Good Morning Sir- Mr and Mrs Ferreira" Marc said fumbling with his words as my parents stood looking at both of us with an unreadable expression.

"Good Morning Dad, Mom" I greeted much more quietly, I don't know why but things suddenly felt awkward around us.

"Good Morning to both of you" My dad said as his eyes traveled from Marc who looked seconds away from passing out then to me who wanted to be anywhere but here.

"Good Morning, Have you guys had breakfast? and you're almost late" My mom asked with concern in her voice as she looked at her gold embroidered wristwatch.

"Yes, Uh, I mean no, we, we spent the night doing some school work and slept late we just came to take breakfast to go" I said as my eyes scanned the living room for something else to focus on.

"Oh alright then, your dad and I were just leaving for a brief meeting we'll be back today for a family dinner and a few guests" My mom said with a pointed look at my direction.

"Can Marc join us?" I asked and Marc whipped his head at my direction and looking even paler.

"Yes he can, and it would be a great way to catch up on what's been going on with everyone of us, your mom says it's a family bonding dinner you can ask her all about it later" My dad said now looking at his wristwatch.

"We must go now and you two be back here before five and Daniel... you're not driving" My dad said and that was the last thing he said before some call came in and they both head out with my mom waving us goodbye.

"I'm so sorry if I took you unawares with inviting you to the dinner, I can just tell them something came up and you couldn't make it" I said feeling remorse.

"It's okay, No worries, I'm free and I don't have my shift at Cheetos till tomorrow anyway" he said as we approached the kitchen dining area where different foods were arrayed on the table and picked the ones we could eat right away.

"I just don't want to feel uncomfortable with the guests throwing questions my way, they always do that thinking it's a way to trick my parents into thinking they're good business people and it sucks" I said stuffing my bag with the rest of the desserts I'll eat later.
