''What is this, auntie?'' little James asked, pointing at a faded scar on her left forearm.

Athena stopped reading the ''The Wizard and the Hopping Pot", and looked at her nephew, not knowing what to say.

''Uhm... This is just a scar I got, some years ago...'' she mumbled, while trying to smile at him.

"And how did you get it?'' he innocently asked.

Athena sighed. What was she supossed to say now? That she did some terrible things in the past, and that she was at the wrong side the whole time?

That she killed one of the greatest wizards of all times?

''Well... I made some mistakes in the past, darling. And when you make those kind of mistakes, you carry them with you, forever...'' she started saying in a soft voice. ''And the scars remain, to remind you to never go back to what you were before.''

James's big, green eyes were staring at her, with full attention, absorbing every single word she was saying.

''Will I get one of those too someday?'' he asked her now.

Her eyes widened, and she felt her heart beating faster. ''No baby, you won't. You don't need to worry about that. Let's continue with the tale now, shall we? It's way past your bedtime.''

James nodded and Athena tucked him in again. She continued reading the rest of the story, until the little boy was finally asleep.

She smiled adoringly at the innocent sight. She was utterly in love with her nephews, and she knew that she would do anything for them.

Athena closed the door of his room, and went back to her own. When she got in, she sat down on her bed, and rolled up her left sleeve.

She traced a certain spot on her forearm with her fingertips; the Dark Mark wasn't there anymore. Now there was just a scar, engraved to her skin forever. It would never go away.

And Athena knew that Draco would have the same scar, on his own left forearm. At least they still had something in common.

With hesitation, she opened the drawer that was next to her bed. She took out the newspaper of the ''Daily Prophet'', that had a moving image of Draco, Astoria and their newborn son on the front page.

The photograph was taken right after they left the hospital, where Astoria gave birth to their little boy. They both had the biggest smiles on their faces, looking happier than ever.

Athena couldn't help but smile at the picture, as she traced Draco's face. His smile was still as bright as she remembered it.

And she was grateful that the wizarding world, had finally discovered how to take colored photographs. That way, Athena could see his icy blue orbs again.

She was yearning to see him, one more time. To look into his eyes, hug him and tell him that she was still here. That she never actually left.

But it was already too late; Draco was married and in love with another woman.

She couldn't help but feel some kind of jealousy, while staring at the happy family. She wished it was her instead, with him. That they would be the ones to have a baby.
