"Mom this isn't the way to the store!"
"Your right. You have a therapy appointment." I gulped.
"What?! I already told you I don't want to go to that!" I cried, earning a nasty glare from my mother.
"I don't care! You either go or I'm grounding you and taking your phone!"
No! Not my phone!
"Fine.." I grumbled. My mother pulled into the parking lot and dropped me off. I waited for her to drive away before I snuck past the building.
She can't trap me into therapy!
I smiled in victory as I successfully walked past the building without being noticed by my mother or therapist. Now, I just needed to find somewhere to camp out.
I noticed a coffee shop a few stores down from where I was currently standing. I'm big on coffee so I decided to go inside the cafe until my therapy session has 'ended'.
"Hello Miss, I'm Silver the Hedgehog! What can I get for you today?" The waiter greeted me as I sat down at a booth.
I was about to answer but I saw my mothers car nearing the cafe I was in. I let out a yelp and immediately tensed at the sight.
"AH! Silver hide me!" I dove under the table as the people inside of the cafe gave me strange looks. Silver chuckled nervously before crouching down to my level.
"Are you okay Miss...?"
"Y/N. It's Y/N, and no! You can't let my mother find me! Just tell me if you see a middle aged woman with brown hair come inside!" Silver gave me a concerning look before he glanced around the cafe.
"Um, I don't think she's here." Silver looked around one last time before giving me a reassuring nod.
I reluctantly sprang up from the table I was hiding in and looked around the cafe. No site of my mother. I looked around outside and her car was no where in site. I sighed in relief.
"Care to explain, Y/N?"
"It's a long story. Mind if I camp out here for a bit?" My eyes pleaded to the yellow orbs in front me.
"Not at all. Would you like me to get you something?" I sat back down in my booth before taking the menu and sliding it to the edge of the table.
"A chocolate mocha, please."
"I'll get that right away." Silver smiled before turning back towards the counter. That was a strange encounter...
Strange encounter indeed.
My phone rang, and I immediately recognized that ping. It was an old one I used to use for my therapist when we'd schedule appointments. I hesitantly checked it just for her to be spam texting me asking where I was.
I shut my phone off and awaited for the cheery hedgehog to come back.
"Here you go, Y/N." Silver placed my mocha onto the table.
"Thank you."
"Say, my break just started...may I sit with you?" Silver paused as he looked into my eyes for an answer. I was unsure at first but....
He was pretty cute.
"Of course!" I smiled, earning one from him in return.
"So, why exactly were you hiding from your mom?" Silver situated himself before asking me.
"Uh, well...promise you won't laugh." Silver chuckled before opening his mouth.
"I promise I won't laugh."
"I was running because my mom was trying to get me to go to a doctor. So I skipped my appointment and ran here." I spoke quickly. Silver blinked at me before bursting into laughter. I glared in response.
"You said you wouldn't laugh!"
"I'm sorry! It's just-I hate doctors too. My friends usually have to make me go to that stuff with force. It reminded me of myself." Silver wiped a tear from his eye before relaxing again. I smirked slightly as if telling him I wasn't actually mad.
"Yeah, somebody gets it!"
"Yup. How old are you anyway?" Silver asked with a nervous tone. I was confused as to why he would be scared to ask such a thing.
"I'm 16. How about you?"
"17. I assume you don't have your drivers license since your mother took you?" Silver cocked his head sideways.
"Not yet. But I will in approximately 4 weeks and 5 days!" I puffed my chest out in triumph, earning another soft chuckle from Silver.
"That's too bad. I was hoping to see you sooner than that." He rubbed his neck nervously. I blushed before returning my gaze back at him.
"That can be arranged." The two of us smiled at one another.
"I would love that." Silver took out his notepad and began writing on it. I looked at him in confusion until he handed me the paper.
"Text me whenever you could use a ride, okay?" I simply nodded as I was too overwhelmed by the cute little heart he drew after calling me cute.
Before I could manage to say another word, I looked outside the window and saw my mothers car pulling into the parking lot of THIS cafe. I immediately stood up from the booth and shot Silver a frightening look.
"Shit! My mothers here! I need to go!" I shook him restlessly. Silver stood up too, before leading me to a back area where a secret exit was.
"Thank you, Silver!" I called out before opening the door.
"See you soon?!" He called back. I nodded my head before the door shut completely. The last thing I heard before completely running out of the cafe was...
"No ma'am I haven't heard of a Y/N girl."
Sighing, I clutched onto the note tighter. I ran back into a grocery store this time. I noticed a blue hedgehog looking at me cautiously but I didn't take notice of it.
I pulled out my phone and turned it on, placing Silver's number into it.
I'd definitely text him later.
