"Should I be honored that you're here, Uncle?" I wanted that word to be dripping with anger and hate, and by the smile that he gave me, I'm going to assume he got the message.

"I suppose that's up to you." He looked between me and Grayson and then back again. "So, you two are it, the ones meant to save the world?" I crossed my arms and felt Grayson do the same. I could also feel Midnight chomping at the bit to get released and to tear this God apart if he even got close enough. Of course, like me, Midnight was regal in his own right, as was Grayson, but Demonio didn't know that and we might have a chance, though a slim one. This time, if this God had any helpers, we had our rings for protection, although I had a feeling that was not on the agenda for tonight. Tonight was a tactic point on his end, sizing up the enemy, seeing what we really had or didn't. However, if his search was the kids, that's something I would vow not to let him see yet. They weren't the whole answer to this war, but they were part, and that is something I hope he didn't for sure know until I let him know.

"Personally," Grayson said, looking over the God, "I'm curious how something so small and weak as you could control a whole realm and then think he could control the world." I almost laughed as Demonio snarled slightly, his own eyes flashing. He had to be careful or he would give away his hands way too easily. The last thing he should be showing us just how little things got under his skin.

"I don't think I can Grayson, I know I can. And it's sad that you and your," he paused, looked me up and down, and shook his head, "pathetic mate think you can stop me." I narrowed my eyes as they changed to black and felt my fangs extend slowly. Funny, they seemed to have been doing that a lot recently in the face of anger. "Calm yourself Fire, no need to take offense to that. I do recall that my demon was able to get a chunk out of you, right? And by the selves of your top, I can see it's all healed up."

"Trust me, Demonio, that won't happen again, so don't think you'll have me," I told him. I felt Grayson's hand within mine, his thumb stroking my nails and I realized they had extended as well. I was really taking on some wolf traits it seemed.

"Don't think you have me over any hot coals, dear niece. Your father tried to think he could get the best of me and he failed. So he created you in hopes that what? You and your mate would be strong enough to take out a God? It's nearly impossible, and quite frankly, laughable. You don't have the resources or the manpower to do what you need to do."

"You can believe what you want, Demonio, but it's still that, what you think. Don't pretend you know anything about us. Or don't pretend that your little sources give you information that you think is correct. Your little informants, your little generals if you will, don't know much. In fact, I wouldn't rely on them to give you anything that you would really need," Grayson said, lifting his shoulder up in a very nonchalant manner and I wanted to applaud him.

"So, you aren't some fierce Alpha who is strong and yet caring? Something that would be a true weakness?" Demonio asked, once more looking over Grayson who didn't even flinch.

"In answer to that, no, that's not true." I fought to keep my face even as I saw this God get riled up, annoyance clearly on his face yet again. Of course, Grayson and Midnight were both strong and caring, but at this point in time, they weren't an Alpha. One simple word and that sentence was a lie, however, we weren't about to correct him. "Are you really here just to be a pain and annoy us? Did you come all this way, wasting your precious time, just go see how we are?" At that, the God lifted an eyebrow and I knew exactly what he had caught on to.

"How do you know about our time being precious?" He crossed his arms and slowly smiled. "You've been visited, haven't you?"

"If you must know, yes. By my father, in fact. That was a hell of a bomb, I must say. Wasn't aware that my father was a God, but it sure explains a lot about me." I paused, tilted my head, and then shrugged. "Even more to know that my uncle was the God of the dark realm. But it shouldn't be odd for a God to visit us; after all, it had to be explained to both of us how a wolf and a vampire are mated to each other. Don't you find that odd, Uncle?" Demonio lifted his head, eyeing both of us again before nodding.

"You aren't nearly as strong as you think you are, Fire. I'm not sure what Sol told you, or what he thought he gave you, but this is not something you can handle. Better yet, this isn't your war, so why even risk your lives for it? I mean, you really can't think you will win this and therefore lose your life. Is that something you want? Because if Grayson dies, Fire, now that he's your beloved, you yourself will die, slowly and painfully. Oh, is that something that wasn't mentioned to you? That the lack of blood will make your bones start to break, your skin starts to scale off, and your fangs hurt uncontrollably because they can't sink into anything." I forced a yawn passed my lips and then let a sweet smile pass his way.

"I'm sorry, how rude of me, were you saying something of importance?" I walked over to him, feeling Grayson reach for my hand but I shook my head slightly. If this God was going to attack, he would have done it already, I knew this and so did he. He was toying with us, at least that was what he wanted us to believe. "I've seen what happens when a beloved dies, I know what will happen. Don't pretend that you think you know anything about me or my beloved or that you know our species well enough. You fool around with demons, hoping to turn us into your puppets but you don't know anything.

"You think your little stints of power are enough to control us, but you're wrong. You think you can seduce and entice us, and you may have some of those in your grasp, but not all of us because we know your games better than you do. There are many of us who can enter your world and walk away from it and not have problems. Don't pretend you know shit!" He laughed, straight up laughed, and got right back in my face.

"And don't pretend, little girl, that you think you know shit about me! Or what the fuck I can do. I have lifetimes on you, any God does! Don't forget, little vampire, I am your uncle; I am as old as Sol! And I can do as much damage as he can!" And with that, he grabbed me, faster than I had ever seen, and dug his nails into my arm. I growled at him, my other hand coming up to hit him but he blocked it. Grayson stepped in but he released me long enough to shove him back, causing Grayson to hit a tree. "You could back out of this war, save yourself, but you're too dumb and therefore will do Sol's bidding, won't you?" he snarled at me and I narrowed my eyes.

"Someone has to stop you! You can't create your little demons, destroy our world, and rule it all!" I screamed at him and I know right then and there that even if I wasn't created to help stop this, I would have anyway. A vampire, especially one as old as I was, didn't care about what went on around us just so long as it didn't bother us. But I asked a few other vampires and they all stood with me. It wasn't right for one such as this God to rule. And it didn't escape my notice that we were working together to right this either.

"I, little girl," he said, twisting me around and pulling my arm behind my back, "can do whatever I want and your mate and you are utterly powerless to stop me. You don't have the power, with or without other Gods help!" I cried out as I felt the pressure build up on my arm and within a second it was gone and Demonio was several feet away. His eyes burned with anger as he stared at Sol.

"You were not to harm her," Sol told him.

"And she was not to get in my face and yet you allowed her to!"

"Fire has my temper, what can I say?" Sol crossed his arms and Demonio stood to his full height.

"You didn't tell her that she was created because you failed, did you? That you produced her in hopes that one day she could destroy me where you failed to do it. She will be as weak and pathetic as you are, unable to destroy me like you just because there is some type of family name attached."
