Chapter 14 - Fleeting Feelings

"Where's Rio?!" Sayaka complained as I stood between her and Fujiko. She told us to meet her in front of the Kyoto station at 1 in the afternoon, but it's already 30 minutes passed, and she's still not here, nor no message from her.

"I'm trying to call her as well but no one is answering" Fujiko sighed then again contacted Rio.

We didn't know where we are going actually, just Rio asked us today. But she isn't here yet.

20 more minutes passed and the girl we were waiting finally arrived, panting hard, catching her breath.

"S-sorry, I-I am...l-late"

"Catch your breath first" I told her then lead to the nearby bench, in which fortunately there's a vending machine next to it.

Fujiko bought a water handed the water to Rio and she calmed herself first.

"Then, there are lots of questions. What happened? Why are you late? And where are we going today?" Sayaka asked her

"Well, my parents were fighting and I became the mediocre for them. I accidentally broke my phone when I was about to message you." She sighed then started to complain "can you believe it?! They are fighting over how they loved each other?! Are they teenagers?! They just wanted to prove they love each other, and they even involved me. And they just remarried recently"

"And your brother?" The three of us asked at the same time

"He's not home." Rio stood up then smiled "Let's go. When we arrived there, for sure the game had already started"

"Game?" Again the three of us asked her, at lost

We arrived in a soccer field and there's on-going game. To our surprise, there were lots of people watching-

"Kyaaaaahhhhh!! Go Jiro-kun!"

What the heck...?

"So where are we really? I mean, who are we going to watch?" I asked, lost to why we are here

"It's Rakuzan Soccer team's first play for this year. Because the were in top 4 in Nationals, they advance right away in Prefectural."

"And, why they are calling your brother's name?" I again asked

"He and Ukyo are part of the Soccer team" when she answered that, yes, we literally shouted

"WHAT?!"

"Didn't you know?" Rio asked me in a surprised tone "they were part of the Soccer team in Teiko. You should know."

"I don't know. I had no interest in other sports" I immediately responded but she retorted that I couldn't disagree

"Aside from archery and basketball"

"Ah, true" Sayaka even agreed

I cleared my throat then crossed my arms "then? Why are we here?"

"This might be their first and last game" she responded as she flight down to find good empty seats. More like, in this area there's not much of people watching, unlike to the other side near the bench

"What do you mean by that?" Sayaka asked her "also, you asked us to watch this?"

"Yeah, I have no one to watch this. Jiro personally begged me to watch it. To why this might be the first and last, a certain red-hair guy pressured them. If they win this game, they could stay in soccer team, if they loose, they need to join the basketball team"

"Huh?!" Sayaka and Fujiko shouted in disbelief

I couldn't help but sigh and to my surprise, no, it's not surprising at all
