Blissful Days

It had been two weeks since Steve and I started dating and I had been on cloud 9. Whenever I had a free moment I was with Steve, even working on assignments together. At the moment I was working on a file that Bells and Kara had found about an old Hydra mission during the war and was trying to get any information that I could from it.

Plus I had been trying to find a way to tell Steve about Hydra and all they are doing in SHIELD and everything else they were in. But nothing was as hard as trying to figure out a way to tell him about Bucky.

I knew I had to, I just was not sure how I should even bring it up. For now, I was just taking it all a day at a time. I was getting ready to leave for the day when there was a knock on my door.

"Come in?" The door opened and there was Steve with a smile.

"Well hello, this is a nice way to end the day," I told him as he walked in and closed the door behind him. We had been careful to not let people know before we were ready and so far we were doing well. Plus it helped that I was high up and he could report to me on assignments and no one would think twice about it.

"I'm glad, are you ready?"

"I am," I told him, picking up my things so we could head out. I walked over to him and gave him a light kiss with a smile.

"I have missed you."

"From the time you saw me this morning?"

"Yes, Paperwork sucks."

"I'm sorry, you should be able to have a good night though."

"I will, but I will miss you." I was spending the night at Melinda's. We had decided once a month I would spend the night like I used to so that we could have some time together again. So far it was going well and I enjoyed spending the time together like we once did.

"I know but we have dinner tomorrow night."

"I can't wait. Do you want to go out or stay in?"

"Whatever you would like to do."

"I guess I will see what time I leave Melinda's and we can go from there."

"That sounds good." We walk out of my office and start to head to my car.

"So there were no problems with the assignment?"

"No, in and out just like planned."

"There was even no fighting needed," Nat said walking up to us.

"What will you do now that you didn't get to kick any butt?"

"Find a willing person."

"Have fun with that."

"Where are you off to so early?"

"It's dinner and movies at Mel's tonight."

"Right, I forgot, that came fast."

"Time flights when you're having fun."

"So very true. So how are those going?"
"Good, at times I see the old Mel slip through but she tries to shut it out. I think losing Phil didn't help at all. He was the one that was breaking through to her. Now I feel as if she is trying to hide again, but I am not making it too easy for her."

"Well, you are kind of a pro at breaking through people's walls.
"I do what I can."

"So what are your plans for Monday night?"

"Dinner with Bobby."

"I don't think I have heard that name." Steve finally talks.

"She's an agent here and I have known her for years. We like to get together every now and then when we have open schedules."
