The rest of the week moved quickly after the dinner with the girls and I made the plans for the trip but was having a hard time closing the Pandora's box I had opened in talking to Mel.

Just as I was once again about to fall down that rabbit hole I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in" Steve popped his head in.

"Are you ready to go or do you need more time?"

"No, I am ready." I got up and walked over to him.

"You look lovely."

"Thank you." I had been off since dinner with the girls and Steve could see it.

"Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, just have been thinking about some things that I haven't thought about in a while."

"Well if you want to talk I am always here."

"I know and thank you. Mel should be here soon though so I should make sure everything is ready." I say making my way back to the kitchen.

I was just finishing pulling the food out when I heard the knock on the door.

"I will get it," I tell Steve before walking to the door and opening it for Mel.

"Hello Mel, come on in."

"Thank you, sweetie, how are you?"

"I'm doing fine and you?"

"I'm good." We hug and she whispers in my ear.

"Are you really alright?"

"I will be." We pull apart and then I look at her.

"If you just want to come into the kitchen, that's where Steve is."

"It has not changed too much since the last time I was here."

"You have been inside?"

"Ya with your mom and Peggy. I helped your mom go through things after your grandparents passed away."

"I didn't know that."

"All of us did things together before you were born."

"I guess I never really thought about it that way."

"Well, we never really talked about it with you."

"Come on, I'm sure Steve is waiting for us."

We walked into the kitchen and I saw Steve.

"Melinda this is Steve, Steve this is Melinda."

"It is nice to finally meet you. I have heard so much about you." Steve said as they shook hands.

"You as well. I have heard a lot about you from Rebekah and all the others."

"I don't know if I should worry."

"No, it was all good."

"I wanted to tell you sorry about Agent Coulson, Rebekah told me you were good friends."

"Thank you, we were very close. He was one of my best friends. He called me after he met you and was pretty excited about it. Rebekah also showed me the cards, he would have really loved that so thank you."

"Of course, Rebekah told me how much he meant to her and he seemed like a really good person. I wish I would have been able to get to know him better."

"He would have loved that," Mel tells him.

"He would have wanted to know all the stories and everything else. You were his favorite superhero. I think that you all would have gotten along."

"I'm sure we would have."
