"Okay, Maddie's nose and the split lip are fixed. You're all good to go," Teddy announced to the two women who waited by her daughter's bedside while the doctor worked her magic.

"Grazie Teddy," Carina told her friend thankfully.

Maya nodded in agreement. "Yes, thank you, Teddy," she said, agreeing with her wife.

"It's no problem at all," Teddy waved them off and smiled before she looked at the youngest member of the family of three. "I hope I don't see you back in the hospital quite so soon, alright?" she asked.

"I make no promises," Maddie couldn't help but grin.

Neither of the two women looked impressed while Teddy laughed while she walked off to attend to another patient. "That's not funny, Bambina," she stated.

"I know, sorry, I couldn't help it," Maddie said as she threw both her moms' a look of sorrow.

Carina nodded as she quickly checked her phone which vibrated and she sighed.

"What's the matter?" Maya questioned when she heard her wife sigh.

"I have an emergency surgery," Carina explained as she shoved her phone back into her white doctor's coat.

"So, you have to go?" Maya asked.

"Si. I have to go," Carina stated in agreement before she looked at the teenager who pouted.

"Well, that sucks," Maddie mumbled.

"We should probably head back to the station anyway," Maya informed as she quickly checked the time and Carina nodded in agreement.

"Be good for your mom, Bambina. I'll come and pick you up from the station when I have finished work," Carina said as she leaned over to her daughter and kissed the top of her head gently. "I love you, Bambina," she added.

"I'll be good, mama." Maddie agreed with a nod as she moved to hug Carina. "Love you too. Bye!" she said.

Carina moved to wrap her arms around her wife in a hug. "Bye Bella, I love you!" she exclaimed, pressing a kiss to her wife's lips.

"Bye honey. I'll see you later tonight. I love you too," Maya responded while kissing her wife back.

"I better head go before I'm late," Carina chuckled nervously as she quickly waved and headed back towards the elevators to head upstairs.

Maya sat there while she stared at her wife who walked away with loving passion, still feeling the same way she did the day that the two of them met.

"Mom, you're staring at mama. You look like a lovesick puppy," Maddie couldn't help but snicker when she caught the look as Maya snapped back in realization from it.

"Come on, let's head to the station," Maya told her daughter.

"So, it looks like there's nobody on call right now," Maya pointed out as she walked through the doors which led to the reception.

"Does that mean I get to finally meet Captain Asswipe today?" Maddie questioned with a slight smirk on her face.

Maya turned to look at her daughter with a scowl. "Maddie, you can't say that kind of stuff," she scolded her daughter.

"Why not? It's true, is it not?" Maddie couldn't help but giggle.

"Yes but-" Maya's explanation was cut short by Vic who just happened to wander down the stairs.

"But if your mom says you can't say it then you should probably listen to her," Vic finished with a grin.

"Auntie Vic!" Maddie exclaimed, rushing forward to wrap her arms around the older woman.
