I waited, I got my hopes up
and set my expectations too high
only to get let down
and left alone to cry.
Being loved is imperfect.
Even though I know I'm loved
I don't feel it
and I've become used to it.
But you took me out of my shell.
My heart wanted to be with you
but you didn't want the same
and now I don't know what to do.
I believed your words
I felt loved.
Now it all hurts
and my heart bleeds.
