To be scarred from lies and feelings
Pain that stabbed my heart
All have bled, hours and days
Maybe a year, falling on rocks
To then get up and move through the waves
Bandage the scrapes, stitch the cuts
To then heal and gather scars
To finally let go of the ropes
But it will never truly leave
It grows with the soul
Because the pain will never let go
It lives in the scars, in the memories
I've come to realize that it will stay
Even though we've parted ways
A part of being human, to learn and grow
The pain will never truly let go
