The swings made her feel like she was flying
A moment of peace, her imagination flowed
A little girl, 8 years old, always in her backyard
She felt like she was on top of the worldThen at 10 she skated around
The house, the block, anywhere she could
Even when she fell, she got back up
Strong little girl, never got hurtThree years later she disappeared
Never really saw her again
Sadness became something that replaced her
And scars were unable to mendBut a lot of time has passed since then
I got back on the swings and skated around
I felt her there, in my heart
I didn't cry, but felt reminiscentShe is gone, all grown up
And I miss her a lot
But deep down she's still inside
Even when it feels she's gone forever
