Kinsley

It's six thirty, and Mr. Creepy is supposed to be here any minute. If he thinks I'm just going to live with him happily, he's sorely mistaken! I'm going to make his life a living hell for taking me away from my parents—so much so that he'll regret it and bring me right back!

"King, dinner is ready."

I got off my bed and made my way downstairs, where the smell of spaghetti and meatballs filled the air. My stomach grumbled as I reached the table and sat down. Without saying much, I grabbed my fork and started eating, trying to focus on something normal for once

"So how are you?" She asked with concern coming from her voice.

"To be honest I'm really not happy about leaving but if it means that you guys are safe I'm all for it."

"Bug, we don't want you to go either but he has some really good trackers and investigators so he would have found us no longer than two weeks."

"Yeah, I understand guess."

The room fell silent all you could hear was the sound of forks hitting the plate. The tension in the air was thick and I felt so nervous thinking about Mr. Creepy.

DING DONG

My whole body froze, and yet, a strange flutter of butterflies stirred in my stomach. My mom gave me a small smile before walking out of the room. I watched her for a moment before turning to follow her, but instead, I found myself walking upstairs. I couldn't believe he was actually here. Our first encounter had been awkward, but something told me this one was going to be even more intense. Who knew that one secret could change everything instantly?

Today, I found out I'm a werewolf—well, half-werewolf, anyway. Then I discovered that I have a mate. And, of course, it turns out to be Mr. Creepy. Not that I have a problem with that, but this whole situation is just crazy, isn't it?

'Every time your lips touch another
I want you to feel me, I want you to feel me
Every time you dance with somebody
I want you to feel me, I want you to feel me
Do your days get a little bit lonely?
Nights get a little bit colder?-"

"Hello"

'WHY IN THE HELL DIDN'T TELL ME YOU MOVED!'  She yelled through the phone making me wince.

"Oh hey, Jess."

'Don't you! 'oh hey Jess' me!'

I felt someone walk into my room, the sound of their footsteps faint but unmistakable. I kept my gaze fixed on the wall, hoping that whoever it was would just leave me alone and go away. I didn't want to deal with anyone right now.

"Look I'm sorry for not telling you that I moved, It was very last minute and I don't like saying goodbye. I was planning on visiting out there pretty soon so chill."

The line went silent, with only her soft huffs being heard.

'Okay, why did you move in the first place?'  She asked.

"Dad got a promotion."

' I see... I see... Harper has been asking about you. A lot almost daily at this point.'

'Harper, the guy from my old math class, Harper?"

'Yeah! he told me that he kind of has a crush on you.'

"Harper likes me? That's kinda weird-"

My phone got snatched out of my hand and smashed against the wall. I looked at the person who did that.

"That was my phone!" I screamed.

"You are MINE you understand me!"

He pulled me into his arms and put his head on my neck.

"Get off of me!"

I lightly shoved him off me, and he stumbled slightly. When he looked at me, his eyes were pitch black. A chill ran through me as I slowly began to take cautious steps back, fear tightening in my chest. I felt like my life depended on every move I made.

"Alpha King why don't you follow me to my office, and give Kinsley a few minutes to say goodbye to her room." My dad said saving me from what this was.

He sighed and turned around to leave.

"Fine, but when I get back I expect you to be ready to go." His words felt firm and final.

I looked into his deep chocolate-brown eyes, and suddenly, everything around us began to blur and fade away. It was as if he was the only thing that mattered at that moment. Wait... what did I just think? My mind raced, trying to shake off the sudden pull I felt toward him. He turned around and left the room, and once he was out of sight, I quickly flipped him off, my frustration coming back.

I picked up my phone and tossed it into the trash. Great, there went all two hundred and ten of my contacts. With a sigh, I walked downstairs into the kitchen, where I saw two people sitting at the table eating my dinner, my mom's spaghetti they didn't deserve to eat her delicious food.

"Mom who are they?"

"This is James and Aidan, Bradley's Beta and Third in command."

"Okay." I said, not really comprehending what she even said.

So his name is Bradley. I sat down on the stool, waiting for him, I guess.

"Honey."

"Yes."

"What did you do with the jar?"

"It's carefully wrapped it up and put it in my suitcase."

"Well... are you gonna drink it?" She asked with curiosity looming in her eyes.

"I really don't know. Part of me wants to, but the other part of me doesn't. I want to know what it feels like to be one, but I'm also afraid that if I drink it, I might not want to be it anymore."

"Yeah, I get it completely, there's no rush I just want you to decide before it's too late. Your birthday is coming up in a few months."

"Yeah, I know."

"Are you ready to go?"

My body stiffened as a semi-familiar voice spoke behind me. My head snapped around to see Bradley, casually leaning against the wall. He had a smug look on his face which annoyed me and without a word, I got up to get my bag from my room. He must have known what I doing because he grabbed my arm stopping me. When his skin lingered on mine I began to feel weird things from where he was touching me, it almost felt... good.

"No need for that." He spoke.

I quickly turned back to my mom, not wanting to face him any longer. I could feel his gaze on me, heavy and intense, but I refused to give him the satisfaction of looking back. How is this even real? I kept thinking. It felt like some twisted dream I couldn't wake up from. My heart pounded in my chest as the seconds dragged on, each one feeling like a lifetime. Then, the men came back downstairs, and one of them spoke, breaking the silence.

"Ready to go, Alpha"

My stomach dropped to the pits of hell as they started walking towards the front door. My feet wouldn't move as if they were glued to the floor. When Mr. Creepy Guy noticed that I wasn't following behind him he came over to me and grabbed my forearm pulling me outside. He didn't even give me the chance to say goodbye to my parents.
