I'd finished cleaning up Pam's house and was on my way back home.

I was excited to bring up the idea with both men in hopes that it would be successful.
I'd ask my dad first and if he said yes then I'd bring it up with Isaiah. I figured Isaiah would be the one to be okay with it. It was really my dad I was worried about.

I arrived back home and pulled into the driveway.

Luckily, my dad was off so I could ask him the moment I walked through the door.

He was sitting on the couch eating a sandwich with potato chips and watching tv. A beer sat on the table in front of him and he took a sip.
He didn't look at me entering.

"Dad..." I called after shutting the door behind me.
"Hm?" he replied with eyes glued to the tv and took another bite of his sandwich.
"Can I talk to you please?"
He muted the tv and looked at me. "You okay?"
"Yea, I'm okay. I just...have something to ask you."
"Alright?"

I walked over to him and sat on the couch next to him. I looked down at my hands as I messed with them.

"Um..."
He placed his sandwich down. "You're worrying me. What happened? Did that boy do something to you?!" He stood up.
"No! He didn't do anything, I swear it." I stated.
He stared down at me.
"He did nothing to me." I reiterated. "Please sit back down so I can talk to you."
He took his seat again. "I'm listening but you're keeping me on the edge of my seat here."

I took a deep breath.
"Would you be opposed to meeting him?" I asked quickly.
"Meeting him? I already met him."
"No. Meeting him for real. I want you two to talk and get to know each other better."
"Willow..."
"Dad, please. I know you don't like him but I really do. I think when you get to speak to him and really get to know him that you'll like him too. He's not as bad as you think he is. Have I ever had poor judgment before?"
"Well there's a first time for everything."
"Dad, please?"
He looked away from me.
"He's so much better than you think he is. I promise."
"With the face tattoos?" he asked and looked at me.
"I told you he lost the only father figure he had. Maybe he needs you. His dad had tattoos, it's like he's just trying to be like his hero."
"And his dad was a good guy?"
"One of the best. Helped everyone. Is still talked about in their hometown to this day for how great of a man he was. He was tatted. And so are you."
"Not on my face," he argued.
"Dad..."
He sighed.
"Please?" I begged. "Just once. Afterwards, if you still don't like it, I'll cut him off."
"Fine, Willow."
"Really?!"
"Yes, really."
"Thank you!" I hugged him. "It'll be great! I'll make dinner and you guys can talk about whatever men talk about. And I might even make a cake!"
"Yea, yea. He better be as good as you say he is."
"He is!" I stated.

I hurried up to my room and dialed Isaiah's phone number.

It rang but I didn't get an answer.
I tried again.
It rang.
Voicemail.

It was 9:45pm. He should be getting ready for bed because of how early he goes to the gym and goes to work.
I wondered what he was doing.

Maybe he's in the shower, I considered.

Thinking that made me realize I should take a shower too.

I gathered my things and walked into the bathroom.

As I showered, my phone began to ring.
I moved the curtain to look at the screen.
It was a telemarketer.
I rolled my eyes and closed the curtain.

Where is he?
Could he have fallen asleep that early? Maybe since I woke him up to bring me home.
It still didn't make sense.

I finished my shower after a few more minutes and got out.
I only had one missed call and it was from the telemarketer.
I sighed and got dressed for bed.

Maybe tomorrow I could ask.

I went to my room and crawled in bed once I was dressed then turned off my lamp.
I was just happy my dad said yes. He was the bigger obstacle in my mind.

~~~
I was woken up at 2am by my phone ringing on my nightstand.
I yawned and picked it up to see what psychopath was calling me this late.
"Hello?" I answered sleepily.
"Hey, Bunny. You call me?"
"Where were you?" I asked and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand.
"I was handlin' somethin'."
I laid back down on my side and just rested my phone on my ear to free my hands. "You didn't do anything dangerous, did you?"
"No, baby."
"Do you promise?"
"I promise."
"Okay..." I laid there with my eyes closed.
"What did you need me for that you had to call twice?" he asked.
"Hm?"
He snickered. "You sound tired."
"Yea..."
"Do you want me to let you go to sleep?"
"Where are you?"
"I'm on my way back home."
"Stay on the phone." I instructed sleepily.
"Why?"
"I gotta make sure you make it home."
He chuckled. "Alright, Bunny. I'll stay on the phone for you."
"Okay..."
"You're cute when you're sleepy."
"Hush." I instructed.
I heard him laugh fondly.
He's so embarrassing.
