(I spent the longest thinking about whether to give up on this or not, but then I remembered I would be like Yandere Dev, so I got a new laptop and opened this website. Why is there so many comments on this story.)
Pavol leaned across the door, above the sign, which looked kind of rotten from that angle.
"Pediatric Recreational Area"
Was this a terrible idea? Maybe. But, it was only for 15 minutes.
She watched as Olive sat on a floor spot, just observing the young toddlers crawl around and interact with the futile, yet fruit-scented world around them. It was adorable.
Some of the "older" kids who looked to be between the ages of 5 and 10, sat around, looking for something to do.
They looked at the 19 year old ahead of them, remaining crouched in that corner. Maintaining eye contact wasn't a very common thing for them.
They cried.

"I...don't think they appreciate a random stranger staring at them."
Olive glanced her, making a squeezing motion with her fists.
"...Erm, no. I don't think they want their cheeks pinched, either."
She looks at them.
"..."
'Why did you pick this room out of all rooms?'"I don't know, I thought you might like it."
'Really?'
"Well, you said, or rather, your report said something about working for a local children's amusement place."
She nodded.
"How is it, by the way?"
'The job?'"No...the place."
'I...don't know?'
'..The last time I saw it, it was okay. It was a really hot day.'"Interesting."
"Do you miss it?"
'...Kind of.'"You wanna put on a show for the kids when you get out?"
'Really-???' She perked up at that.
"Yeah..! They've been here for some quite some time, a little entertainment to liven things up wouldn't hurt."
'How long?'
"Oh, the kids? Uh...most of them, probably about a year or two."
'...'
"Yeah...apparently some parents think it's a daycare. Not like we have the finances or anything to say otherwise, and management just lets them stay here. Even the janitor."'Wow.'
"Crazy, I know. But they're not so bad. Only three of them bite."
They both watched a young girl chewing cables, that lead somewhere to a table near her.'...'
"...Make that four."--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He watched the flat, and undisturbed dunes.
It might've been death to return. But it wouldn't be in vain, right?
At least, he learned his lesson with not having water.
He adjusted his mask, taking a quiet step forward.
It seemed eerie, honestly. The faint wind, the random spots of faded red and brown practically engraved below him.
He could've sworn he heard something take a leap behind him.He wandered more, looking.
The tents smelled awful. There was murky water and mold fused in the fabric and bending metal poles that connected them.
Keeping track of his footprints, he wanted to be as fast as possible. The detour wasn't mandatory, but he felt otherwise.
Every particle of the air had some sort of sand in it. Even if it wasn't noticeable at first, it most definitely made sure to sting him quickly in the next available interval.
