...

Was that what he was?

Without his pride?

Without his ego?

Without his dominance?

Without his tall height and hollow glares?

Is that all he was?

....

Just a baby?

It's still dark in the hospital, but no longer silent. In fact, if you listened closely from the outside, you could hear an infant, crying for the girl he loves so much to come back and comfort him.

------

Is that how it was?

Put into very clear and simple words for the man's thoughts.

A baby.

From the start of his performer life at three to the end of it at seventeen, he had tried so hard, so much just to avoid that fact. The fact that he had to be mean, be petty, be the best out of everyone else to even be a sliver of great. Or else, he would be just some jerky and childish preteen who wanted everything his way. He hated that the thought had returned from the cracks of his mind to come and haunt him in the form of a daydream.

And now, here he was, a nasty twenty-two year old doctor about to mentally break down for the same reason.

And yes, being part of the youngest staff did not help his current situation of feeling better at all.

All that money he "borrowed" from dad, who probably was living it up in Tokyo with hot female performers in the casino?

He had used it to come here, in this new town, to, how you say? Start over.

He used it to get himself this job, away from everything that made him rub his temples, to get oneself a home, and to be..reborn? Sounds like a more fancier excuse of not knowing what to do after you'd just fucked up. He always had a liking for poisonous chemicals, and the shit that bombs do, and cutting people up, and sowing them together, etc, etc. So he became a doctor, with like a year or two's worth or "training", thinking to himself,

'How hard could this be?'

And now with this reoccurring daydream he's having, the doctor seemed to have answered his own question.

Pretty damn hard, you know?

...

Either way, he didn't care. All he wanted in this very moment was to wake up.

It had gotten real awkward in the overall room itself, too.

Olive was getting bored of the show she was watching, the same episode appearing twice, now.

Eepop's phone battery was deteriorating to a wonky 24% , after playing wireless games for who knows how long, now. She was thinking about going now, not even having a charger with her at the moment. Surely, Marifa wouldn't be that stingy about it, right? And besides, it's not like Eepop was going to helicopter over Olive forever and end up sleeping in the room all the time, with the both of them. Hell no. She had a business to maintain, too and Marifa should be lucky that not much customers came in today.

Tomorrow, she wasn't planning on visiting. Work came first and foremost. Also, she wanted to go home and see that her precious bleeding hearts (it's an actual flower, search it up, it's really pretty) weren't being mauled out by Onomadek. She had gotten into the fuchsias last time, and Eepop had almost cried her soul out when she discovered it, and the fact that Onomadek said they looked like peppers did not help.

The time was 1:31, now in the farther afternoon. Eepop picked up her purse and dusted her skirt, getting up out of that now uncomfortable leather seat. Olive looked over to her, attention no longer on the television.

Aw, it was just going to be her and the doctor again. Not that she was complaining, though.

The now kind of tired auburn went back to Olive and hugged her, saying her goodbyes. Olive still hadn't talked to her for the entirety of the time she was there, not knowing what was even going on in Eepop's life or anything, but she hugged back, wanting to see her again. She smelled like freshly bloomed flowers and honey, making Olive feel wonderful too. Eepop whispered to her, not wanting to disturb the doctor. Looking at him, though, he looked as though he wasn't even conscious. His eyes awake and fully writing, but he made no sound and just sat there.

"I have to go now, but I'll miss you, Olive. Trust me when I say we're going to hang out."

Olive nodded, smiling. She was looking forward to this hanging out with her. More especially the mall. She heard a lot of things going on there, and wanted to experience it too.

"Where will you go when you get discharged? Surely, you didn't come straight out of...there."

Olive didn't want to, but she had to nod. And now thinking about it, where would she go? She clasped the bed's side bars tighter, ideas coming and going. She pointed to Eepop, asking.

"Me? Oh, I wish. But my apartment is right the shop and it only has two bedrooms.. One for me, and one for Onomadek."

A sad look formed on both their faces. Eepop wasn't with the fake act in this moment. She did want Olive to come live with her.

"Isn't there anyone else you know that might say yes?", Eepop hinted at the doctor, nudging her.

Well, let's see. Olive was thinking about the doctor, but then that black-haired girl popped up in her head, eyes still with fury telling her to back off. And something tells her that she wouldn't be able to handle seeing the doctor every day. She wondered if there would ever be a point where she would accidentally glance at him when he was shirtless..

Olive blushed and waved her hands no frantically, making the auburn smile.

"Oh well. Anyone else?"

She thought about the only other person she really knew her, and that was Pavol.

Would she be willing to?

Olive would have to ask her the next time Pavol visited. She signed, hopeful.

'Maybe..?'

Eepop clutched her hands in a fist, inspiring to help her.

"Alright, well, ask her tomorrow!"

Olive imitated her.

'Yeah!'

With the exception of the doctor, the mood of the room seemed to brighten. Although the new questions and concerns popped up, it was kind of nice seeing these two together. In this moment, they really felt like "besties".
