"Are you sure?" River questioned, tilting her head at Kol.

"Certain." Kol replied in the same tone River always did. "You've done this before, haven't you?"

"On myself? Yes." River clarified. "On others? Not so much."

"Well I trust you." Kol confirmed.

"Let's hope you don't regret that."

-----

"Do you want to take a break?" River asked as she noticed Kol's hold tightening around her waist.

"I'm alright, Darling." Kol reassured, "You're presence is more than enough to distract me from the pain."

"I don't think that's how it works." River muttered, shifting under Kol's tight grip as she wiped the excess ink from the tattoo she was giving Kol.

"I'm a vampire, Darling." Kol reminded, "I heal so quickly a break isn't necessary."

"I'm pretty sure a bunch of needles rapidly penetrating your skin will slow down how quickly you heal." River explained.

"There was no need for you to word it like that," Kol stated, cringing at the thought. "But if you're so concerned then how about I have a little snack to speed up my supernatural healing again." He proposed, grazing his fangs over her jugular.

"Nope, a break it is." River concluded, pushing herself off of Kol's lap.

-----

Kol carefully watched River's face as she worked. Her focus concentrated on his upper pectoral where she was still tattooing him. A few hours had passed since they had begun the session and Kol's mind was beginning to wonder... again.

"You're beautiful." Kol thought aloud.

With the amount he and his siblings say that it almost loses its meaning.

"And gorgeous." He added, pressing a soft kiss to her neck.

Well that's new.

"And funny." He continued, pressing another kiss further down her neck. "And compassionate. And sexy."

Kol then continued to kiss down the strap of River's bra which was currently not covered by her shirt. River however, remained focussed, her eyes never straying from her work.

"Give me 30 seconds." River dismissed.

"20." Kol bargained as he tugged on the seam of her shirt.

"Fine." River mumbled before returning her focus. "Done." River decided after a moment once she had properly dressed the fresh tattoo.

"Wait, what?" Kol questioned. "You're not even going to let me see it."

"You trusted me with picking what to tattoo." River reminded.

"Right." Kol recalled. "So when can I see it?" He chirped.

"Tomorrow." River answered causing Kol to whine loudly.

"You know I don't have the attention span to wait that long."

"So then let me distract you."

-----

"I hate being inside." River decided.

"That's at least the fourth time you've said that today." Nik observed.

"Well I have to make sure my perspective is clear." River explained. Nik rolled his eyes playfully before he stood up.

"Come on." Nik encouraged.

"You're taking me outside?" River hoped, springing up from the seat she was in.

"Not quite." Nik corrected causing River to whine as she went to sit back down, "But I still think you'll like it."

"I'm skeptical but I trust you." River analysed.

"That's all I needed to hear." Nik stated before picking River up, bridal style, her arms coming to rest around his neck.

If it's another 'sex dungeon' I'm going to seriously have to reconsider the floor plan of this house.

Finally, Nik then opened a door on the top floor of the mansion before entering. Nik was quick to then place River down on a couch.

"What am I doing in here?" River asked, looking around the room. After a moment of searching the room, she finally decided to use her brain and reflect on the concerning amount of  artwork around the room. "It's a 50/50 bet but I'm going to assume you haven't been stealing these from famous artists over the last thousand years." Nik couldn't help but smile at her analysis.

"Do you like them?" Nik asked carefully.

"I'm relatively impressed." River mocked, her voice going unnaturally high, giving away that she was lying. "But now you're never seeing the chaos that is my sketchbook."

"Not true." Nik denied, "One day you will let me."

"Not a chance." River countered. "But I still don't understand why I'm in here." River added after a moment, changing the topic.

"Well you see, Love," Nik started. "I've been making art for the last millennium." He explained before pausing. River hummed, urging him to continue, "And recently I've run into a bit of artist's block." River narrowed her eyes at him, confused. "I was hoping that you could help me."

"Like I said you aren't stealing any of my sketches." River countered, holding up her hands in defence causing Nik to roll his eyes... again.

"Not what I was thinking." Nik corrected.

"What were you thinking then?" River asked.

"Let me paint you." Nik requested.

"Like a French girl?" River flirted, "That will certainly motivate you to-"

"What?" Nik questioned.

"Never mind." River blurted out.

"So what do you say?" He asked.

"Of course." River accepted causing Nik to smile.

"Get comfortable." He stated before retreating to where his easel was located, "This may take a while."

"As long as you give me snack breaks I'm okay with that." River agreed. As Nik continued to adjust the canvas, River looked down at what she was wearing.

Nope.

Nope.

Nope.

There is no way I'm being painted wearing this.

River then slipped her sweater over her head before tossing it into some corner of the room. She then adjusted the waistband on her sweatpants so that the corners of her underwear were just visible. Once she was satisfied, she then ruffled her hair slightly before making sure that the necklace, which had previously been hidden under her sweater, was facing the correct way.

Nik shifted in his stance, the moisture draining from his mouth as his eyes flickered up to River for the first time.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" River tempted, knowing how crazy Nik was about completing the bond. Nik merely hummed in confirmation before he walked over to River and crouched down in front of her.

Nik then cupped her jaw as he pressed his lips to passionately. Once he pulled away, his harsh kisses had bruised River's lips slightly causing him to complete his signature smirk.

"Perfect." He praised breathlessly as he traced the edge of her figure with his finger.
