Imogen's POV

Today has been a strange one... It started off pretty normal, like most days.  I woke up, showered, then got changed for work.  Simple. It wasn't until after work when things became a little odd... a good odd, for sure.

I met a guy today... But I didn't quite meet him in a normal way... I mean, it wasn't terrible, but it was terrible. I met him in a grocery store.  He asked me if I've ever tried dragon fruit, as he picked one up from the tray next to me. I was stupid enough to answer, yet at the same time I'm glad I did. Long story short... he has my number, and he just texted me a time and location for a date.

Now, I'm not telling my brothers. One, Will would give me a lecture on how men are supposed to treat women. And two, jay would tell me how stupid I am for agreeing to meet someone I don't know. So therefore, they shall not know until they need to.

I've never had the best look with guys, purely because I'm a quiet person. Not many guys are into that these days... However, I'm hoping Charlie is since I'm getting ready for our date as I speak.

"So, that's how I became a journalist..." Charlie smiles as I chuckle at his story.  I can't lie, this guys is incredibly funny.  He smiles as I shake my head, "that sounds like it should be in a fairytale" I shrug.  He nods, "oh believe me, I've thought about writing it up" he sighs.  I widen my eyes, "please do" I chuckle again. He nods, "what about you? How'd you become a vet?" He smiles curiously. I tilt my head, "well, like most kids, I loved animals. I guess it's just always been my dream job, so I made it happen. Gosh, my story's way less interesting than yours" I almost snort a laugh, good job I held that in...

"No, it's cool. I love animals" he smiles. I nod, "cats or dogs?" I lean my chin on my fist. He chuckles, "uhhh, definitely cats. They're less dependent" he nods. I sigh, "I agree, although they can be a bit grouchy. I have two cats at home actually" I shrug. He raises an eyebrow, "maybe I'll get to meet them one day" he smiles.  I nod, "maybe" I sip on my wine.  He smiles at me, and I swear I've never felt so comfortable around anyone before... it seems so natural.

"Erm, hello? Where the hell have you been?" I enter my apartment to see my best friend sat on my couch, sometimes I forget she has a key.  I sigh, "I was on a date" I shrug, throwing my heels down by the door.  Gabby gasps, "what?! You were?" She bounces up onto her knees, making Loki (my youngest cat) run away.  I sigh and pick up the other cat before sitting down on the couch, "yes, and it was very nice" I smirk.  She narrows her eyes at me, "wait, so you're telling me there's been a guy, and you haven't told me about him?!" Gabby gasps.  I chuckle, "not really... we met today, and had a date today. It's kinda' strange, kinda' exciting?" I nod.

"Bitc- you met him today?!" She nearly chokes on air.  I smile, "yeah... we met in the supermarket and he asked for my number, so I gave him it. Then he sent me a really sweet text, asking me out on a date. So I said yes?" I sigh, now realising how stupid I may have been.  Gabby scoffs a laugh, "let me get this straight? You... Imogen Halstead, the most shy person I've ever known, met a guy and had a date with him in the same day?" She stifles a laugh.  I slap her arm, "shut up! Okay? I did, and he's a lovely guy. We have or may not have arranged to get coffee on Saturday" I smirk, turning a shade of light pink.
