"Arden?"

"Move back."- I said sternly to my male classmate when he was about to push his chair closer to me.

"Bakit?

I heard him tsk before sitting on his chair. I rolled my eyes when he turned his back on me.

I want silence every day because I cannot focus if there is someone beside me who is very talkative or moving their body too much, creating a disturbance in my peaceful life.

Ma'am announced that there will be a project as a requirement for the upcoming finals while scanning the whole classroom.

"By pairs, ma'am?"- one of my classmates asked.

"Yes."

Naghiwayan naman sila dahil by partner nga.

"I don't want a partner."- I said, causing everyone of them to look back at me.

I cross my arms and lean back in my chair as I cross my legs.

"I would like to be alone, ma'am. I prefer to work that way."

"That's not my problem anymore, ma'am. Besides, we're grown up now. Some of us can make babies now, so I'm sure they can also make their own projects alone."

Mrs. Torillio was too stunned to speak. Am I wrong in making that claim? Maybe not, because I can see dozens of teenagers who can flirt with each other but are afraid to do their projects alone.

The class continued, and when the bell rang, Mrs. Torillio asked me to stay for awhile.

She stood behind her table and put her hands inside the pockets of her blazer.

"Miss Arden, I get that you're not a fan of socialization, but this requirement requires each of you to have a partner.Haven't heard of teamwork?"

"Why would I do teamwork if I can survive alone?"
