"Good afternoon, everyone! You can call me Ate Vera! Again, we congratulate you all for successfully joining La Alma. We are honored to have another batch of great dancers like all of you. I hope you enjoy all the activities in this club!"

Pumalakpak ako kasabay ng mga kasamahan kong natanggap din sa dance group.

It's Friday and the group asked for our presence to formally welcome us as new members of the La Alma.

We are in the studio. It's a huge room and the front wall is made out of ceiling-high mirrors. On the left wall, there is the painted name and logo of the club, while on the right, there are three doors. One is an office, and the rest is the restroom and lockers.

We're thirty-five inside the studio but there's still a lot of space. We can even spread and do a mirror-mirror position, and there will be some spaces left!

It's like a huge ballroom hall!

"A lot of our seniors quit the club since they will be very busy for the next months. Lalo na yung mga magtatapos na sa susunod na taon. But as much as we want to accept more people, only the twelve of you passed. The judge were very picky and meticulous this year, kaya marami ang bumagsak."

They have judge? Ang akala ko criteria ang ginagamit nila para mamili ng makakapasa sa audition.

Sino kaya ang judge?

"Sino po 'yung judge, Ate Vera?" Lakas loob na tanong ng isang lalaki na bago pa lang katulad ko.

Ngumisi si Ate Vera.

"Maya maya, darating na din 'yun. Busy pa siya sa student council office. So while we wait for him, let's have a game!"

Umingay ang studio. Some hooted excitedly while others look nervous. Kasama ako sa kinakabahan dahil wala akong ni isang kakilala dito. Tapos wala pa din akong nakakausap.

I hope this situation of mine won't last the whole time.

"So, here's the game."

Nasa harapan namin ang lahat ng members ng club. May ibang mukhang walang pakialam, may mga nag-uusap, may nakangiti sa amin at nanonood, ay may ibang sumasayaw sa tapat ng salamin.

Welcome to the studio and the members!

"Each one of you will be grouped with two senior members of La Alma. So, there will be eleven groups consisting of 3 members, then one group will only have two members, since kulang tayo ng isa. We will dance a song choreographed by the person who's not here,"

She must be talking about the judge who's currently busy in the student council office.

"And depending on your performance, you will be classified into three groups. Modern dancers, hip-hop, and general dancers. There are different genres in competitions, so we decided to group the club into three. Still, may mga activities na magkakasama pa rin ang lahat!"

I bit my lower lip. Mas tumindi tuloy ang kaba ko! What if I can't be classified? That'll be embarrassing!

Pumalakpak si Ate Vera kaya nakuha niyang muli ang atensyon ko.

"Alright! Let's start the game. Old members are already paired up. Kayo na ang pumili kung sinong bagong member ang gusto niyong turuan. While me, I will be with one excess person. Magsimula na tayo!"

I panicked. Paano kung walang pumili sa akin?!

What if they think I suck in dancing, so they won't choose me? Hindi pa naman lahat sila nanood nung audition! Halos sampo lang yata sa members ang nanood nung araw na 'yun!
