"Everyone, this is Santi Revamonte. The current leader of La Alma."

I'm out of words after that performance with him. Nawala nga sa isip ko na kasabay namin sa pagsayaw si Ate Vera!

I didn't notice 'cause she stopped before the climax of the song hit, just to watch us dance. Napagtanto ko na lang ang lahat nang magpalakpakan ang mga kasamahan namin.

"What a wonderful welcome performance! Pagod pa 'yan sa ginawa sa student council office. Sana all, 'di na kailangan magpractice." Ate Vera teased him.

Umiling ang lalaki. May ngisi sa labi niya.

"We performed that, Vera. What do you expect?"

"Hmp! Yabang!" Humalakhak si Ate Vera.

Sumiksik ako sa pinakalikod para magtago. I still can't get over to the performance. My cheeks are still burning! Nahihiya ako.

Although some are still watching me, the spotlight is mostly on Santi Revamonte, who's casually standing on the same spot. Sunod sunod siyang binati ng mga miyembro ng grupo.

Then I realized something.

I hesitantly clap my hands together with the rest of us here. Mahina lang dahil ayokong makuha ang atensyon niya. He smiles and looks around. My eyes are wide and I immediately duck my head when his eyes go on our side.

Kung bakit ako nagtatago, hindi ko din alam!

"The meeting will end here. Sa next meeting na lang namin sasabihin kung saan kayo mapapabilang. Again, welcome to La Alma!"

Nakahinga ako ng maluwag. Hindi pa ako handang magkipag-interact sa kaniya. Nahihiya ako dahil sa performance, at sa pagdelete ko ng request niya. Baka maalala niya ako...

Sumabay ko sa mga kasamahan sa pagkuha ng gamit nila sa locker. I only have a mini bag with me 'cause my school bag was already at home. Pinasabay ko sa pag-uwi ni Louisa kaninang uwian namin.

"Maxine!"

Nahinto ako sa akmang paglabas ng studio nang tawagin ako ni Ate Vera. Bumangon muli ang kaba sa akin dahil alam kong nasa tabi niya lang ang gusto kong iwasan.

Pero hindi naman ako pwedeng maging bastos. I have no choice but to look back and respond!

"P-Po?" I stammer.

Curiosity lorded over me when her cheeks turns pink. Nawala na sa isip ko ang lalaking nakatingin sa akin. Napunta ang buong atensyon ko kay Ate Vera mukhang nahihiya.

"Ano 'yun, Ate Vera?"

She jog towards me. May pinaghalong tapang at hiya sa mata niya nang huminto siya sa harap ko.

"A-Ano kasi... Are you close to your c-cousin, D-Drake Samaniego...?"

Kilala niya si Kuya Drake?

"Uh, yes. We're living in the same subdivision, so we see each other every day." I replied.
