To be exact, his heart stopped and the paramedics couldn't get it started for three minutes. Three long minutes of CPR and defibrillation. Finally, they got a pulse and immediately transferred Kazuto to a gurney, loading him in the ambulance and racing off to the nearest hospital. Once we arrived at the hospital, I was holding his hand and crying. The paramedics told me to please wait in the emergency department waiting room and they'd let me know when he was ready to be seen by visitors. I tried to fight it, arguing that I'm his wife, showing the ring he got me at the end of the ordinal scale incident. I had to do as they requested and wait though, because Kazuto was immediately taken back to the OR. A long five hour surgery later, and a whole lot of stress and anxiety from me, and I got the news from the surgeon that the surgery had been a success but there was no way to know the full extent of his injuries. The doctor explained that because Kazuto's heart had stopped for so long, they were very concerned about brain damage and he was placed in a medically induced coma. I visited him as soon as I was allowed to and I swore that I would never let anything or anyone hurt him again. He was abducted from the hospital, and I found him in less than a day, with the help of our AI daughter Yui and all of our dear friends from SAO and ALO. Kazuto had been taken by Rath to a facility more equipped to help heal his type of injury, and I stayed there with him. Eventually, I had to go to his world because, not only was he comatose in real life, but I learned he had become catatonic in the underworld as well. There was a horrible war in the world and after it was over and we had won, we both became royalty and lived in the underworld for 200 years mentally, more like a few days physically. Kazuto and I both fully recovered from our experience.
