(A/N: this is a request by Nanakosactualwife and the summary here is Mushitarō and Ango are hanging out and solving riddles. Prepare for fluff. Without further ado, enjoy!)

Mushitarō was waiting for Ango to get home, which was admittedly taking awhile since Ango had a crazy work schedule.

In the meantime, he chilled on the couch with Charcoal, his and Ango's cat they'd recently adopted.

Charcoal purred as Mushitarō petted her.

Finally, after what felt like forever, Ango arrived home.

Mushitarō got up and ran over to greet him. "Welcome back!"

Ango smiled. "Thanks, it's good to be back."

Mushitarō smiled back. "Come in and relax a bit. You seem like you really need it."

"I do." Ango headed straight to the couch and flopped down onto it.

Mushitarō sat down next to him. "Long day?"

"Very." Ango sounded tired.

Mushitarō put an arm around him. "Don't worry, you can relax with me."

Ango smiled and leaned on Mushitarō's shoulder. "I appreciate that."

Mushitarō smiled back. "Of course."

The two of them did just that for a few minutes, both feeling the need to unwind after their days at work.

After that, Mushitarō suddenly got an idea and excitedly looked at Ango.

Ango scooted away. "Oh no, I know that look."

Mushitarō pouted. "And what's so bad about it?"

"You always have that look whenever you get one of your crazy ideas."

"Crazy ideas?! I'll have you know that they're actually amazing ideas."

"Whatever you say."

Mushitarō pouted more.

Ango laughed. "You know I'm just kidding."

Mushitarō grinned. "Yeah."

"So, what was your idea?"

"Let's do some riddles!"

"You know I'm not good at those."

"Exactly." Mushitarō grinned evilly.

"Oh, I see what's going on here. You just want an easy win."

"Well yes, partially. I also want to spend time with my boyfriend."

"Fair enough."

"Therefore, I challenge you to a riddles contest!"

"Challenge accepted!"

They stared at each other determinedly.

"I'll go first!" Mushitarō declared.

"Oh, you're on!" Ango replied.

Mushitarō propped his chin up on his hands. "Alrighty. I'm tall when I'm young, and I'm short when I'm old. What am I?"

"A candle?" Ango guessed.

Mushitarō grinned. "Correct! Your turn."

Ango fell silent and thought for a minute. Then he looked at Mushitarō. "What has to be broken before you can use it?"

"Easy. An egg."

"Yep!"

"Alright. What's always in front of you but can't be seen?" Mushitarō asked.

"Air?" Ango guessed.

"Good guess, but no. The future."

"Oh. Makes sense."

"Yep. Now whatcha got?"

"What goes up but never comes down?"

"Age."

"Yep!"

"What can you break even if you never pick it up or touch it?" Mushitarō glanced at Ango.

"Hearts," Ango answered.

Mushitarō laughed a little. "That's a good guess, and it could even technically be right. But the answer I was looking for is a promise."

"Oh. Ok, you see a boat filled with people, yet there isn't a single person on board. How is that possible?"

"All the people are married."

"Correcto." Ango nodded.

"What can't talk but will reply when spoken to?"

"Uhhhhh...animals?"

"Nope. An echo."

"Ah. What has many keys but can't open a single lock?"

"A piano."

"Indeed." Ango was wondering how on earth Mushitarō was getting every single one of these right.

"Where does today come before yesterday?" Mushitarō questioned.

"Time travel?" Ango guessed.

"Eh, technically right. But nope, the dictionary."

"Wow, I'm bad at this."

"Just a little."

Ango snickered. "Gee, thanks."

Mushitarō smiled. "You're welcome."

"It belongs to you, but other people use it more than you do. What is it?"

"Your name."

"Yep!"

"The more of this there is, the less you see. What is it?"

"Fog?"

"Good guess, but no. Darkness."

"Oh, makes sense."

The two of them kept exchanging riddles for awhile, and Ango horribly lost. The ones he got right were very few and far between. Meanwhile, Mushitarō had been acing every single one that was thrown his way.

"How...how are you so good at these things? They're so confusing," Ango commented.

Mushitarō shrugged, grinning. "They just come easy to me."

"Yeah, thanks for rubbing it in."

"Aww, you're welcome."

Ango scowled playfully.

Mushitarō kept grinning.

Once they had finished their riddles contest, they just relaxed together. While the day had been tiring, it had also been fun thanks to the riddles contest.
