At school, Principal Perry had assigned Adam and Chase the important task of watching over the Dooey Dingo costume, which was rumored to be a target for the rival school's pranksters. The costume had become a school mascot of sorts, and the last thing Principal Perry needed was for it to be stolen.

While Adam and Chase were on guard duty, keeping a sharp eye on the costume, Harper had other plans. She caught up with Bree and Leo between classes, and the three of them made their way into the gym.

As they entered, they observed various students scattered around, setting up dominoes in intricate patterns. Harper narrowed her eyes, puzzled by the sight. A sign hanging overhead read, "Domino Domination Tournament Tomorrow."

"What's going on in here? 'Domino Domination'?" Bree asked in confusion.

Leo shrugged nonchalantly. "I don't know anything about dominos, but if it means gym class is canceled, I'm all for it."

"I've actually heard about this." Harper began, resting her hands on her hips. "Domino toppling is the activity of standing up dominoes in sequence known as a domino run and then triggering the first one in line to create a chain reaction which is also called the domino effect."

Leo raised an eyebrow at her. "You and Chase deserve each other."

Harper grinned, leaning into the playful jab. "Thank you."

Their conversation was interrupted by the entrance of Caitlin, who marched into the gym with her usual swagger.

"Oh, hey, Caitlin." Bree called out as the three of them followed their friend over to a table. "Are you doing the Domino Domination?"

"'Doing'? No. Annihilating every competitor that comes my way? Yes!" Caitlin replied confidently. She sounded proud of herself as she added. "You may not know this, but I come from four generations of domino-droppers."

Leo raised an eyebrow, looking entirely unimpressed. "And that's something you're proud of?"

Caitlin grinned and pulled out a shiny silver domino medal from underneath her jacket. "I got stuck with second place last year. If it happens again, I'll have to shave my head, move to the desert, and hope the coyotes will accept me as one of their own."

"That's something a stable person would say." Harper sarcastically muttered.

"So, how do these competitions work?" Bree wondered, still intrigued by the strange world of competitive domino toppling.

"You get points for the number of dominos toppled and originality." Caitlin explained, her grin widening. "My designs are super original 'cause, well, there's only one me!"

"Amen to that!" Leo agreed.

Caitlin then looked at them expectantly. "Do you guys want to do it with me? My teammates just bailed. They couldn't handle the pressure."
