Taisho secret: Spirit Breathing 101

Lol someone in the previous chapter commented that they wanted to get more background for the spirit breath that I made up for this OC! This probably should have been the very first chapter but I know probably nobody reads that information chapter at the beginning (😂). But why not be extra like I always am for making the OC world even bigger and do just that with this chapter!

(like bruh i'm so extra that I made this whole breathing form and the full history for it 💀 literally when I was reading the manga I was like hmmmm why not fuse this part with my OC world hmmmmmmm). So if I sound very serious in this chapter 😂 just know that 50% of this stuff is not even cannon - it's just a fan OC world which I mixed with the OG kny world.

Also the timeline for the other OG characters are not same as cannon - I also bend these to fit the OC world lol

For some, I'll use bullet points just to make it easier to write and also read :))

Spirit Breathing - History

- first spirit breath user was L/n Ryota hundreds of years ago

- he was naturally gifted with seeing the spirits because the eternal form of life, the Pheonix spirit had chosen him. That's why he became the Pheonix spirit user + Pheonix fire. + "Pheonix eye" which I randomly made up based on his spirit type

- he was a good friend of Yoriichi (sun breath user) and Sumiyoshi. I set this as when Yoriichi ran away from home as a child, he met with Ryota who trained with him for sword skills

- (then the cannon Yoriichi story)

- when Yoriichi decided to pick up the sword again, Ryota led him to use the sun spirits to make the 13th form of Sun breath (which Tanjiro uses in the final battle)

- then they teach their diciples. And that's how spirit breath was passed down. I assume some of Ryota's children also picked up spirit breath and became demon slayers to pass down the breathing forms

- When Yoriichi died, Ryota was very sad ;-; so after saying that goodbye to Sumiyoshi, he decides that he will kill Muzan in the far future

- To achieve that, that's why his spirit got dominated by the Pheonix being in that unconscious state for hundreds of years. Because he can't die as the phoenix spirit holding onto his own is a spirit of immortality.

- He was remembered as one of the strongest swordsmen of all times along with Yoriichi, and that's why he was considered as a legendary story to most - including Y/n's family

- But Y/n's parents and the relatives think it is too much for children to understand the history, so they introduce Ryota as their direct grandfather. (???: ji-chan!). But actually, he is a pretty far ancestor.

- the same goes for your descendants. Ryota and Yushiro pretending to be humans of that era lol. (find the imposter)

Principles

- spirit breath uses spirits of natural elements / animals because it works under the basic principle that everything has a spirit.

- and believe that all spirits are in balance with each other - in peace
