Y/n's pov

You open your eyes, the warmth of your blanket over you as your eyes start adjusting to the darkness of dawn, your head softly resting on top of Giyu listening to his steady heartbeat. Looking up at the window, you see the violet sky, the spring mist hanging around the cherry blossom trees of the Spirit garden. You feel Giyu shift under your head, his warm fingers stroking your back as you watch his eyelids slowly open.

'Who thought you would naturally wake up at this hour.' you say, your voice groggy from sleep.

'Impossible from you always shouting at me if I don't.' he replies, the corners of his lips inching upwards. 'You're head is pretty heavy, Y/n.' he adds, trying to push you off of him although you squeeze his waist, resting your head back onto his chest.

'Liar.' you say, tempted to close your eyes again for more sleep, only to be interrupted by the loud voices just outside your room.

'Oka-san! You are still in bed!' You hear Yui yell from behind the shoji doors, the shadow of her chubby cheeks peeking through with Sabito trailing behind her. 'You must be tired from working all week but it's the morrninggg!' She says, her silhouette growing larger as she takes a step forward.

'Right.' Giyu replies, smiling at Sabito's eye peeking through the slim gap between the shoji doors, Yui whispering quickly at him that it is not nice to peek at the room.

'They are better than us sometimes.' You say, crawling out of bed, pulling Giyu with you for the usual morning ritual of climbing up the mountain, your children running after Obanai and Mitsuri's children in the garden.

As you all return from the mountain back to the garden, Giyu holding Sabito as he whines about his legs hurting from running up the mountain.

'They must be making miso soup!' Sakiri, Mitsuri's oldest daughter yells happily, her cheeks turning pink as she inhales the scent of breakfast cooking in the kitchen.

'Soup!' Yui shouts, taking her geta off and running off into the kitchen.

'Shoe soup!' Sabito yells from Giyu's arms as you chase your 6 year old daughter into the kitchen through the surprised noises of the maids currently cooking food.

'Yui! You can't run without your shoes!' You say, picking up her small geta off of the ground.

'Yui-sama! The soup is still boiling!' The maid cooking the soup yells as you find Yui staring at the piece of tofu floating around in the thick scent of the miso soup, her reaching for the spoon on the side. Before she can touch the hot soup, you pick her up, her deep blue orbs turning hazy as she relaxes into your arms.

'Please don't run into the kitchen when they are cooking. They are very busy and boiling and chopping food!' You say, Yui's blue eyes looking up at yours as she scratches her cheek.

'Sumimasen, oka-san.' she says, putting her feet back into her shoes as you place her back down onto the garden.

'Y/n-chan! Your children are so full of energy! Aww, Syuro, why don't you follow Sabito to the table?' Mitsuri says, holding Syuro's hand as he hides behind his mother seeing Kotaro run through the petals pooling on the ground towards them.

'I don't know how Sabito can run all day. Especially when he was just complaining about his legs hurting just now' you laugh, Sabito giggle loudly as he sprinting towards the table being set on the engawa, ignoring Giyu telling him not to run.

'Sabito, Yui, sit still please.' Giyu says as he sees Tanjiro and Nezuko struggling to keep the younger children settled around the table as the food gets served, Inosuke shouting at the younger kids something along the lines of them being his underlings, which they only ended up laughing loudly.

'Fish...' you hear Yui say, her blue orbs filling with clouds again as the maid helps feeding the children. You smile watching her mind wander about her paintings.

'Oto-san! Do you think fish can fly?' she suddenly asks, Giyu almost coughing out the green tea he was drinking, Yui giggling as she opens her mouth at Aiko-san feeding her a piece of braised meat.

'Flying fish?' Giyu asks back, Obanai and Mitsuri's children's eyes shifting over to Giyu as well.

'If you make a blob of water in the sky with your sword and put fish in it?' Yui suggests, Sabito's eyes growing large at his sister's idea.

'Fish water.' Sabito says, Syuro smiling shyly in Mitsuri's arms.

'That could work but I wouldn't try it.' Giyu says, Tanjiro's eyes turning into crescent shapes as he notices Giyu choosing his words carefully trying not to disappoint children while still sticking to the facts.

'Heh? Why not?' Kenji asks, his innocent heterochromatic eyes shifting over to Giyu as he places soft tofu on Obanai's spoon. You smile watching Giyu looking lost in the children's questions, secretly enjoying flustered Giyu wondering what to do if the children to actually ask him to show them a flying fish.

'Fish needs to swim in large places. It would be cruel to trap them in a small bubble, wouldn't it?' Nezuko says, Kenji's mouth making an O as she pats his head as Tanjiro next to her looking proud.

Saturdays were usually for relaxing, taking your time away from the museum leaving the exhibition work for the maids while you and Giyu took care of the children, although often the afternoon were spent by the children playing with each other in the garden now that most of them were old enough to do so.

Leaning against Giyu on the engawa, you relax into his warmth, the cool scent from his shirt wafting along in the spring breeze mixing with the children's laughter around the estate. Looking up, you watch Yui place different colourful flowers into Sakiri's hair, Sabito collecting the fallen flowers from the ground.

'Oka-san! Look at my hair!' Sakiri yells towards the engawa, Mitsuri's cheeks turning red as she watches her oldest daughter.

'Children grow so fast don't they?' you say, staring at Yui starting to remove the flowers from Sakiri's hair and starting over with a new design, Kanao and Shinobu joining in the line in the children to do their hair in the garden.

'You sound old.' Giyu says, patting your hair, his eyes fixed on Sabito half rolling in the cherry blossom petals on the ground away from Kotaro the dog.

'But they do!' You say standing up to face him, Giyu's eyes thinning into a crescent grin as he chuckles before taking you back into his arms, both of you watching the children play with each other under the bright sunshine, in peace.
