the dinner was indeed really awkward, with the sounds of the utensils hitting eachother as the sound that filled the atmosphere.

domghyuck, however, occasionally broke it to compliment the cooking and some other times, the sounds of smacks filled the room whenever he spoke with his mouth full- courtesy of mark who sat next to haechan

however, one of the people at the table abruptly stood up with a plate in their hands and excused themselves from the table and guided themself to hyemin's room. seeing this, hyemin's mother's heart warmed, knowing that her friends had her back at all times.

the girl who had just calmed down her breathing was sat on her bed, facing the empty wall infront of her with no specific thoughts. it was when she heard a knock on her door, her mind started shifting gears again and she groaned when she reached her conclusion

"mom, I'm not going downstairs, i don't feel like it at all," hyemin whined but the response made her shot up

"i didnt know i was your mom? but thank you for the compliment, your mother is really beautiful,"

hyemin stood up as quick as lightening and unlocked the door, letting in the man who stood with a smile on his face and a plate full of food in his hands

"jaemin, you didn't have to bri-"

"i had to, shut up. no meals are skipped when na jaemin is around, got it?"

dumbfounded, all she did was nod and sat back down on her childhood bed. jaemin took this as an invitation and set down the plate on her old desk and sat down next to hyemin

he wrapped an arm around her shoulder and squeezed it, sending a comforting smile her way.

"its okay, min. I'm sure your dad isnt angry at you at all- if that's what's making you feel bad. wait- do you feel bad? if i were you I'd feel pretty bad. but you're you and not me so I don't know but if you think he's mad at you for lashing out, i dont think he is. infact i think you did what needed to be done and now only one thing is left and that is to give it another try, okay?"

hyemin just stared at the floor as she tried to process what the boy next to her just said. when she finally did, she slowly nodded which made jaemin smile wider and reach for the food on the desk

"your mother is a great cook by the way. i dont know how you were going to skip such an amazing meal like this"
