the weather had started to get warmer day by day with the arrival of spring. even though it was a bad time for people with allergies, it was still breathtaking and refreshing.

spring felt like new beginnings and gaiety, a perfect time to go out and bask in the gentle breeze and the sun. whereas March, the month of spring, felt like a warm hug and a plate of nicely cut fruit your mom gave you randomly.

undoubtedly, it was jisung's favorite month, even though his favorite season was autumn. but he recently started associating the month and season with the brightest ray of sunshine in his life.

she didn't realise the effect she had in his life. he saw her everywhere; in the vibrant colors of the sky or the sweet fragrance of the flowers as they bloomed, in the calm silence of the night or the noisy chatter in the daylight. somehow, seorin was always present in jisung's mind.

man.
he was obsessed with this girl.

he couldn't help but think of the incident from a few weeks ago. he couldn't help but think about his father. had he loved his mother like this too?

jisung didn't visit the man, not even once. even though hyesu would ask him to join her every now and then, he declined and asked her to stop talking to him about the old man.

he was firm in his decision but ever since that particular morning, he was having second thoughts. a call from his sister who informed him that their father was awake and asked for him.

in all honesty, the boy just hoped he'd lose his memory or leave the world. and as soon as the thoughts entered his head, he felt disappointed for wishing for someone's misfortune for his own satisfaction.

he wasn't in full control of what he was thinking. he wasn't in control of what he was feeling. he wasn't in control of anything. and he hated it.

if it was up to him, things would be so different. he would have a nice, present father. he wouldn't have random anxious episodes. he wouldn't stay up late at night thinking about the past. he wouldn't carry the immense weight of grief inside of him all the time.

life is unfair to everyone.
but park jisung felt like he had it worse.

he finally opened his eyes and looked over at the peaceful girl who was observing the sky. they laid next to eachother in tranquility, surrounded by the grass of a garden at university.

not many people were around, but even if they were, seorin didn't really care. she finally got to see her boyfriend after a busy schedule, she was going to spend time with him even if it meant going to a garbage dump and taking a swim.

"don't," she said, eyes not moving from the sky. "don't think negative."

her voice was a whisper, a gentle vibration to his ears.

"how did you know what i was thinking?"

his voice was deep and smooth, a contrast from her's.

"i just do." she turned to lock eyes with him and gave him a small smile, "i promise, everything will be okay. I'm right here with you and I'm never going anywhere."

"that's a bold claim."
"its a promise."

somehow, jisung found himself outside of the room he never thought he'd be entering in the near future.

despite all the hatred and time spent away from him, he couldn't disobey his father when he was asked to go see him. his sister was already in the room, being there since the morning to look over the man.
