A Night In Viridian

"Raiden... You do know that you are making an enemy of the wrong person right?",she said in a low tone.She has blood splattered all over her.Alas she slowly turned around to see that Raiden too was splattered in blood.Both of them look at each other's blood stained faces and as they stare at each other the clouds sent out their first thunder.

"Not the wrong person.Trainers eliminate anyone who they believe to be problematic nowadays don't they?",Raiden replies.As the clouds start to clear, The Kanto Police arrives at the scene.They get questioned by them and just replied that they did it to protect themselves from the grunts that attacked them.They arrested the grunts and freed the Pokemon they stole and returned them to their respective trainers.Eventually, it was decided that Mayu and Raiden can be let of the hook and two officers accompany them to Viridian City.They left after the two rookie trainers were brought to the Pokemon Centre.

Mayu decides to take a quick shower before anything else and Raiden cleans his sword.The two of them decide to have dinner together and they talk over a few things like their aim.

"So Mayu, what's your goal?",Raiden asks.

"The Pokemon Grand Championships!",Mayu said staring at a poster on the wall.

"How amusing... That's where I am headed for aswell.",Raiden replies."I take it that you do know the rules to enter them right.?"

"Of course!To join the tournament one must be a part of every regions official Stand Up Trainers Cup.They must finish in Top 8 of atleast in 6 different regions.",Mayu said.

"What do you want to gain out of becoming the grand champion?",Raiden asks her in a low tone.

"Revenge... Vengeance... Let's just say there's someone I have to prove wrong.What are you in for?",Mayu said staring at the ceiling.

"Power.Absolute power."She saw that Raiden was quite serious about it.

"Anyways,I am gonna go make a call to my mom now.Don't you wanna call your family?",asked Mayu.

"I don't have one."As Mayu heard that she didn't particularly feel horrible for asking such a question but rather felt that it was better to leave him be.

Raiden and Mayu were sleeping soundly at the inn, their bodies exhausted from their recent travel. Suddenly, a loud explosion shook the building, causing them both to jolt awake.

Raiden sat up in bed, his eyes wide with alarm as he took in his surroundings. The room was in disarray, with furniture overturned and debris scattered about. Mayu came into his room at a quick pace.

"What's happening?" she asked.

Raiden shook his head, his mind racing with possibilities. "I don't know," he replied, his voice urgent. "But we need to get out of here, now."

With that, Raiden sprang into action, quickly pulling on his clothes and grabbing his sword from where it lay beside the bed. Mayu followed suit, hastily dressing herself and grabbing a small bag of belongings.

As they made their way through the inn, they could hear the sounds of chaos and destruction all around them. People were screaming and running in every direction, their faces twisted with fear.

Raiden and Mayu pushed their way through the crowd, determined to make it outside to safety. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they burst through the front doors of the inn and into the street.

But what they saw outside was even worse than what they had left behind. Buildings were on fire, debris was strewn everywhere, and people were still running for their lives.

Raiden and Mayu stood frozen for a moment, their minds struggling to comprehend what was happening.
As they ran, Raiden couldn't help but feel a sense of anger and determination growing inside of him. Whoever had done this, whoever had caused all this destruction and chaos, they would pay. He would see to it personally.

Raiden and Mayu eventually found a quiet park bench to sit down and catch their breath after the chaos they just experienced. As they sat down, they both couldn't help but smile as they remembered their first day as Pokemon trainers.

Raiden was the first to speak up, "I remember when I first started today as a Pokemon trainer, I was so nervous. I had never been around Pokemon before, let alone caught one."

Mayu nodded in agreement.She chuckled, "Yeah, I remember my first battle too. I got my Squirtle, and I thought I had it all figured out. But it turns out, getting a Pokemon is just the beginning. The real challenge is training them and preparing them for battles."

Mayu leaned back on the bench, "That's true. But I also remember feeling a sense of excitement and adventure when I set out on my journey. There's something about exploring new areas and discovering new Pokemon that is just so thrilling."

Raiden nodded, "Definitely. And it's not just about catching Pokemon and battling either. Being a Pokemon trainer is about building a relationship with your Pokemon, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and finding ways to help them reach their full potential."

Mayu smiled, "Yeah, I think that's what I love most about being a trainer. The bond between a trainer and their Pokemon is so special."

Raiden agreed, "Absolutely. And who knows what kind of adventures and challenges lie ahead for us. But one thing's for sure, we're in this together.Aren't we?"

Mayu grinned, "Man,I am still not sure if I can be a good comrade.But yeah, we'd make a great team.I still owe you a battle afterall."

The two friends sat on the park bench, basking in the warmth of their memory and the excitement of their future adventures as Pokemon trainers.As they walk towards another inn, they are stopped by a few officers.

"Did you see a green haired girl with a Bulbasaur?"

"No.", they replied simultaneously.

The officers moved on.Mayu quickly understood that the green haired girl with a Bulbasaur was the one behind the massacre.Mayu gave a devious smile and thought to herself that there is someone else who is out for more blood than her in the world.They find a new inn and go to bed.Raiden falls asleep with his Charmander and Mayu holds Squirtle in her arms.

"Squirtle, being a water type you should be able to put out fires right?Then why did I not think of that?Even if one person could be saved because of it, I would've been happy.Being a Pokemon trainer is a journey of hardship.The next we see a fire, we will put it out, Right?",asked Mayu with a smile on her face.Squirtle happily jumps up as an answer to her question.The two of them fall asleep.

The next day, both Mayu and Raiden enter the Viridian Forest Gate.The gatekeepers warn them of the many dangers that lurk in the forest.Viridian Forest is also known as the "First Obstacle" and many met their end as well.

The two of them bravely enter the forest and as they dwell deeper and deeper into the a few Pokemon start appearing.Ultimately, a Weedle comes out of a tree crawling.Mayu saw this Weedle as a potential powerhouse on her team.And so, she chooses Squirtle and enters into a battle with it.All that's left, is for her to get her first catch.
