The next day, they wake up to people screaming outside. People were panicking about the Lake Of The Rage. Mayu rushed towards the Lake of Rage, her heart pounding with a mixture of worry and determination. She couldn't shake off the feeling that something was seriously wrong, and she didn't want to drag her friends into potential danger. As she approached the lake, she saw a chaotic scene unfolding before her.

The once tranquil waters of the Lake of Rage were now churning violently, and a massive red Gyarados roared in distress. People were running in all directions, trying to escape the fury of the enraged Pokémon. Mayu knew that this Gyarados was no ordinary Pokémon – it was known to have a violent temper and incredible power.

Without hesitation, Mayu released her Pokémon from their Poké Balls, ready to take action. She called out her Ursaring, Umbreon, and Ariados, knowing that they would be her best companions in this dire situation. She didn't want to battle the Gyarados, but she knew she had to find a way to calm it down before it caused further destruction.

As she approached the Gyarados, Mayu could feel the intense energy radiating from it. She could sense its anger and pain, and she knew that it was suffering. She tried to connect with it through her Pokémon, hoping that her empathy and understanding would help calm it.

"Easy there, big guy," Mayu said softly, trying to project a sense of calmness. "I know you're upset, but we're not here to hurt you. We just want to help."

Her Ursaring and Umbreon stood by her side, emanating a sense of trust and support. Mayu knew that her Pokémon's presence would help to show the Gyarados that they meant no harm. Slowly, she moved closer to the raging Pokémon, speaking in soothing tones.

Meanwhile, Ren, Raiden, and Riyu had followed Mayu, unable to let her go alone into such a dangerous situation. They arrived just in time to see Mayu trying to calm the Gyarados.

"Mayu, be careful!" Ren called out, her worry evident.

Mayu glanced back at her friends, giving them a reassuring smile before focusing her attention back on the Gyarados. She continued to speak softly, trying to ease the Pokémon's distress.

As she got closer, Mayu noticed something unusual about the Gyarados. Its eyes seemed to flicker with a strange light, almost as if it were under some kind of influence or control. This realization only strengthened her resolve to help the Pokémon.

With a deep breath, Mayu reached out to the Gyarados with her own psychic abilities. She tried to establish a mental connection, seeking to understand the source of its rage and turmoil. Through this connection, she could feel a dark and unsettling presence, a malevolent force that was driving the Gyarados to madness.

Mayu knew that she had to break this influence, but it wouldn't be easy. She focused her psychic energy, trying to counteract the negative influence with her own positive intentions and emotions. She called upon the memories of her friends, the bonds they shared, and the strength of their unity.

Slowly but steadily, the Gyarados began to calm down. Its roars turned into plaintive cries, and the violent waters started to still. Mayu's heart swelled with relief as she felt the Gyarados' emotions begin to stabilize.

Justa strong gust of wind blew through the chaos, and a familiar figure appeared before them. It was Lance, the Champion of the Johto Pokémon League. His powerful Dragonite hovered beside him, exuding an aura of strength and authority.

"Mayu, Ren, and Raiden," Lance greeted them with a nod. "It seems like trouble always finds you."

Mayu's tense expression eased a bit at the sight of Lance. "Lance, it's good to see you," she said, a mixture of relief and worry in her voice. "But what are you doing here?"
