THAILAND

Amelia nestled on David's lap, her pacifier bobbing gently between her lips. Her eyes, red and swollen, shimmered with unshed tears while she sniffled softly.

"Don't worry," David murmured, his touch soothing as he caressed her hair and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Meeting his gaze, Amelia's watery eyes quivered slightly as she whimpered, "Whatever you did, baby, it's okay. You absolutely nailed it. I'm beaming with pride for you."

Amelia mustered a weak smile and softly hummed while holding her pacifier in her mouth. David grinned and gently stroked her head, then leaned back and gradually turned his head to the right. He noticed Aidel staring out the window, his hair swaying in the breeze, looking slightly troubled. Aidel's eyes appeared glossy, and he remained silent.

David's eyes locked onto Aidel, studying him intently for a while before reluctantly shifting away.

HOTEL

They entered their hotel room in silence, the weight of unspoken thoughts hanging between them.

Amelia trying to distract her mind, carefully arranged the beautiful Polaroid pictures she had taken.

In the bathroom, Aidel desperately sought solace, splashing cool water on his face, the droplets unable to extinguish the turmoil within. He inhaled deeply, attempting to steady himself, but his anguish remained palpable.

At the bedroom door, David stood silently, his heart heavy and with gentle determination, he slowly approached Aidel, placing a comforting hand on his trembling back.

"R is a jerk...  try to forget whatever he said. It doesn't matter," David whispered, his voice tinged with a mixture of empathy and reassurance.

Aidel's jaw clenched in response to R's cutting words, a surge of anger and hurt coursing through him.

"He knew her..." Aidel whispered his voice barely a breath.

David's brows furrowed, his heart aching at the sight of Aidel's distressed face.

"How could he say that..." Aidel's voice trembled with sadness, his head bowed in defeat.

"Aidel.." David's voice quivered with empathy, his hand outstretched as he fought the urge to hold Aidel close.

Aidel swallowed the bitter knot of emotions, the weight of it pressing on his chest, as he lowered his head, unable to bear the weight of his turmoil any longer.

David quietly enveloped Aidel in his embrace, holding him gently yet firmly.

Aidel's arms remained stiffly at his sides as he spoke, his voice sounding muffled against David's chest.
