Abhimanyu Singhania

I looked at Amayra's broken expression as I felt my heart clenching. She was crying like a baby in Dad's arms.

Dad looked at her worriedly and stroked her hair.

This was one thing about him. He knows when to speak. He knows how to understand people.

He understands Amayra, even more than I can. Every matter regarding her, is always his priority. He always knew Amayra wasn't comfortable with him, and he never once forced her to talk to him. And now when she finally is, he is rightfully caring for her. He told me how Amayra has confessed her trust for him and acknowledged him as our father. I'm glad that she's giving us a chance.

Although, I hope what I'm going to do won't hurt her.

I swept my gaze towards Amayra, "Amayra, are you okay?" I asked her.

She looked at me and smiled bitterly. Her smile looked so forceful that I felt my heart ache. I rubbed my temples and sighed.

" You know that you can share whatever with us, right?" Dad says softly.

" I know that someone has hurt you. And you know what, I'm waiting. I'm waiting for the day you are comfortable enough to share your pain with me, my babygirl," my father says, staring directly into her eyes.

He kissed her forehead, " And till then, I'll protect you with everything I have without a question."

Amayra's face turned extremely red as she looked at Dad. I can tell that she was trying to calm herself down. She was controlling herself.

I couldn't help but sigh silently.

Everything turned silent after that. I sat down beside Dad and looked at the city from above silently.

If she wasn't comfortable, we can wait.

Nobody comes before her.

The robotic voice of Amayra's text-to-speech echoed, making me snap back from my trance.

"I want to tell."

I narrowed my eyes slightly but composed myself the next moment. This was the first time she was trying to share her past. She did tell me once, but it was just bits and pieces. It wasn't clear what exactly happened or who did that to her.

Amayra Miraya Singhania

I wiped my eyes and sniffled quietly. I have decided that I'm going to tell them. I don't know if they're going to make fun of me or hurt me, I want to let it all out. If this is a trap of theirs, then they have successfully made me fall in their trap.

I shook my head internally.

They are family.

I felt myself tearing up again when I looked at my father.

Am I bad if I say that I trust him the most?

The security I feel when he's around is unmatched.

I began typing on the phone, all the while reminiscing the day I ran away from Daksh's house.

Flashback

I ran away and far away from the place as fast as my legs could take me. I couldn't help but glance back once in a while to see if they were following me. Running for a long time, I entered the woods.

However, I still didn't stop and continued sprinting forward. Only after after a very long time, when I was assured that they couldn't find me anymore, did I stop.
