"Oh?"

Chu Xia walked over and touched his forehead. "It doesn't seem to be a fever. Why are you talking nonsense? How can you be dying?"

"I pulled out a long worm," Cen Huai'an gestured with a white face. The worm had indeed been very long, and the memory of it was terrifying. With a worm that long inside his belly, he definitely couldn't live..

"Mom, if I die, bury me under that big tree outside."

The more he thinks about it, the sadder Cen Huai'an gets, and he can't help but cry.

Chu Xia paused, then burst into laughter, clutching her stomach. This only deepened Cen Huai'an's despair.

She was his mother, but she didn't seem concerned.

His own mother didn't comfort him, and she even laughed so happily. He rolled over and faced inward, angry and uncomfortable.

Sure enough, his mother just didn't like him in her heart.

"Silly child!" Chu Xia finally said, patting Cen Huai'an's back. "You took deworming medicine, and the fact that you passed the worm means it's out of your system. You won't die. Hurry up and get up to eat!"

"Really?" Cen Huai'an asked, surprised and relieved.

"Really."

Cen Huai'an immediately perked up, got up, and followed Chu Xia to get some food. Today, she had prepared a simple meal: yam porridge and tomato scrambled eggs.

The yam porridge was thick and aromatic, while the tomato scrambled eggs were sweet and sour. Cen Huai'an now knew he didn't have to die,and he eats extraordinarily well.

When the food was finished, he even wanted to lick the plate but was stopped by Chu Xia.

However, when he washed the dishes, he glanced around the water utility room and secretly licked the plate clean before washing it.

Chu Xia couldn't stay at home all the time, as she had to go to work before her exams at the factory came out.

She couldn't handle the work in the workshop, but she couldn't avoid it either. So, the team leader reluctantly assigned her the most unskilled task—moving rolls of cloth.

It was a difficult decision because Chairman Zheng herself had come to greet her. If Luo Chu Xia really fainted in the workshop because she didn't take care of her, her position as team leader was at risk.

Moving cloth was a different job from the technical work, which meant Chu Xia took a pay cut.

Others might not be happy with that; they would rather be tired than take a smaller pay.

Chu Xia was perfectly fine with it, not all reluctant to stand behind the production line, waiting for the cloth to be woven so that she could take it away.

The previous worker in charge of moving cloth had been a temporary worker who had always been trying to learn some technical work in hopes of becoming a regular employee.

Now that Chu Xia had created an opening for her, she quickly handed over the cloth-moving task and informed Chu Xia of where to move it before rushing to learn new technical skills.

In her heart, she still thinks that Chu Xia is stupid. Technical workers received raises based on years of service and levels, while a cloth mover's pay wouldn't increase no matter how long she did the job.

She thought she had gained a great advantage and had no intention of warning Chu Xia.

Chu Xia knew exactly what she was doing, and she's not going to be able to do the work she did before.
