Cen Zhengnian had a key. He opened the front door, but the puppies that usually ran over with a bark when the door rang was nowhere to be seen. The entire house was silent, just like before Chu Xia and An'an had moved in.

He furrowed his brow and went inside. He noticed fallen yellow and green petals scattered on the floor. It seemed like no one had swept the house for a long time. It was then that Cen Zhengnian remembered what Chu Xia had told him before when she came to his place.

She mentioned that she would return to Liangzhou in a few days. However, she spoke during the night when emotions were intense, and Cen Zhengnian had just responded with a casual "Hmm." Later, as work became busy again, his thoughts were entirely consumed by research, and he lost track of the date.

Finally, when he finished a small project and had some time to spare, he thought of going home to see Chu Xia and An'an. It was only then that he recalled what Chu Xia had mentioned about going back to Liangzhou.

He quickly went to the living room to check the calendar, and indeed, there were no pages torn after May 4th.

Cen Zhengnian ran his hand over the table and chairs, which had a thin layer of dust. Sighing, he felt a sense of emptiness, much like the courtyard.

He didn't know what day it was in May, but he estimated that Chu Xia had probably already arrived in Liangzhou.

Cen Zhengnian turned around and went to the nearby convenience store in the alley to make a call to Liangzhou.

When the owner of the corner store heard that he was looking for Chu Xia, he smiled and said, "How did you know Luo Chu Xia came back? Wait a moment; I'll call her for you."

After returning from No. 9  High School, Chu Xia was preparing to take some items for Cen Huai'an to deliver to Bangzi and the others, thinking of sending them over around noon.

Before she could finish taking everything out, she heard the voice of the corner store owner downstairs. Someone was calling her.

Chu Xia quickly went outside, assuming it was a call from the capital. She thought it might be An'an calling her, but to her surprise, as soon as she picked up the phone, she heard the gentle voice of Cen Zhengnian on the other end.

"It's me, Chu Xia."

Chu Xia was momentarily stunned. "You know I've arrived in Liangzhou?"

Cen Zhengnian's smiling voice came through the phone, "After I returned home and saw no one there, I remembered you mentioned going back to Liangzhou."

Combining the time when the calendar stopped, he was just making a guess. If Chu Xia hadn't arrived in Liangzhou, he could confirm it with this call.

If she was already in Liangzhou, he could have a conversation with her.

Hearing Cen Zhengnian's words, Chu Xia laughed. She could imagine Cen Zhengnian's confused expression upon returning home to find everything missing.

"I sent An'an and the puppies to Grandpa's house. Why didn't you ask me about going back to Liangzhou that day?" Chu Xia recalled the situation in the dormitory that night, her tone slightly mischievous.

Cen Zhengnian chuckled, "I did ask, are you sure you can still recall it?" Chu Xia rubbed her ear, feeling that today's weather was a bit hot.

"How would you know if you didn't ask?" Chu Xia retorted stubbornly, though in reality, she couldn't remember anything else at that moment.

Cen Zhengnian replied, "That just means I didn't try hard enough."

His laughter in his words became even more apparent, and Chu Xia's face turned even redder. "Shut up! Stop talking!"
