An'an would have liked to have kept listening; he was so interested in what his dad used to do.

But he couldn't resist the powerful call of his biological clock; slowly, his eyes grew smaller, until sleep completely overtook his consciousness.

Chu Xia had been listening all along. Even when An'an fell asleep, she remained awake. Seeing Cen Zhengnian stop speaking, she immediately asked in a low voice, "What happens next?"

"Next..." Cen Zhengnian, touched by her curious gaze, smiled and continued telling the story.

Chu Xia gradually felt drowsy. She stifled a yawn and said, "Let's continue the story later. It's a pity you're leaving tomorrow."

Cen Zhengnian's stories were quite interesting. Even though they were just everyday life anecdotes, hearing him speak was comforting and had a hypnotic effect.

Cen Zhengnian looked down at the sleeping Cen Huai'an. His eyes were closed, and he looked relaxed, still holding onto a corner of Cen Zhengnian's clothes.

He raised his eyes and saw that Chu Xia had already closed her eyes, with a hint of tears due to drowsiness at the corner of her eye. This warmth made him feel an irresistible impulse.

"Chu Xia, how about you and An'an come to Ganzhou with me and stay with my parents?"

Chu Xia's consciousness was already hazy, and she heard this and said without thinking, "What about my job? What about my studies?"

Cen Zhengnian sighed quietly. He knew it was impossible, even when he asked. He reached out and patted Chu Xia's back. "I just said that without thinking. Go to sleep."

Early the next day, before the sky had even brightened, Cen Zhengnian opened his eyes.

Cen Huai'an lay in his arms, sleeping soundly. Chu Xia was also sleeping beside them, a smile on her lips, as if she had had a beautiful dream.

He watched the two of them, and a small smile unconsciously curled his lips. He carefully removed his arm from beneath Cen Huai'an's body.

The train ticket was for 7 o'clock, and it was not yet 5 o'clock. He had to head to the train station early. But it was too early for Cen Zhengnian to let Chu Xia and An'an accompany him.

Just as he had pulled out his arm, he heard An'an mumble, "Daddy."

Then he watched as An'an's little arm felt around, touching Cen Zhengnian's body, before he turned over and continued sleeping.

Cen Zhengnian breathed a sigh of relief. He really didn't want to wake An'an up.

He got up from the bed and began dressing very lightly. But when he turned his head after putting on his clothes, he met the open eyes of Chu Xia and Cen Huai'an.

He hesitated in his movements and asked, "Did I wake you up?"

Chu Xia shook her head and said, "No, I was already awake, keeping track of the time."

She yawned as she spoke, and Cen Huai'an had a similar sleepy expression on his face.

Cen Zhengnian went over and pulled the quilt for the two of them and said, "I'll just go to the station alone; you guys don't need to get up."

Cen Zhengnian knew he didn't know when he would be back. He didn't want to leave for the station all alone, without any family members to see him off.

And from Cen Huai'an's expression, he could tell that Cen Huai'an wanted to see his dad off, even though he hadn't said it.

Chu Xia pulled back the covers and said, "We're already awake, and I can't sleep anymore. It's a good time to see you off."
