I was extremely tired as I walked to the lake with Lily and Severus. After the most boring hour of history of magic with a ghost as a teacher (he probably bored himself to death), we had one of my new favorite classes: defense against the dark arts. Professor Gryff's teaching style was challenging, painful, and strenuous. Basically, I loved every minute of that class. It wasn't like transfiguration where we just took notes, it was practical magic.

Lily and I spent the whole class stunning and jinxing each other using the new spells we learned. Now, she hobbled next to me with a slight limp. I could tell we would both be sore in the morning from falling off those cushions hundreds of times.

"Look Lex," Lily stopped and pointed to a willow tree over the lake. "There's your brother. Sev and I will wait over here for you, then we can hang out."

Nodding, I left Lily and Sev sitting on some mossy rocks on the lake shore. Sure enough, a tall, brown haired boy was standing under the willow tree. I joined him and sat on a log at his feet. Felix slumped beside me and we stared out at the lake together.

"So what did you want to talk about?" I sighed and leaned against the smooth trunk of the willow. The long, leafy branches reached down around us swaying in the breeze. Autumn colors were beginning to show in the trees surrounding the glittering lake. I officially decided I loved the spot. It was peaceful and beautiful.

"I just..." Felix began. "I just wanted to spend time with you. I honestly thought we would be-"

"In Ravenclaw together," I finished for him. "I did too... I honestly don't know why that hat put me in Gryffindor... I'm not brave."

"No, you are... I should've seen it coming. You're just so daring and brave!"

"That's exactly what the hat said!" I burst out laughing.

"I miss talking to you, even though it's only been three days," Felix sighed. "I promised mum I would look out for you... And then, I completely miss the fact that someone drew on your face yesterday!"

"You heard about that?!"

"Yeah, heard it was pretty funny. Wished I saw it!"

"Real supportive bro!"

"Okay, but really," Felix said seriously. "I need to be here for you, and I haven't and-"

"Felix, I was fine without you the last four years when you were off at school. I'm not a little kid anymore! I can take care of myself!" I huffed.

"Lexi! I know you can. I just wish you were in my house," Felix sighed and shoved me playfully in the shoulder. I winced, as that was the shoulder I fell on in DADA. "Are you okay?"

"Uh, yeah, just fine. I just fell on it in defense against the dark arts today... We learned some hexes and jinxes today," I explained and rubbed my shoulder. A sour look crossed Felix's face.

"Professor Gryff taught first years hexes and jinxes during their first class?! I'll have to talk to Professor Flitwick about this... That is very dangerous!" Felix rambled as he absentmindedly stroked the prefect's badge on his chest. "I'll meet with him right now... I suppose I'll have to tell Brit we can go to Hogsme-"

Felix's mouth clamped shut as he realized he may have let something slip. Then it dawned on me: Brittany. That girl he received a letter from.

"Brittany, eh? What, did you have a date with her today?" I teased as I poked him. "When were you going to introduce us? When are you gonna tell mum? Huh? Huh?"

"I don't know what you're talking about..." Felix turned away as a scarlet blush swept across his cheeks. "Maybe I'll tell everyone when you tell me what's really going on between you and that boy... What was his name? Sirius?"
