"So, what's it like?" Mary Macdonald giggled as I pulled on a pair of boots. Sarah and Rebecca, the other two fifth year Gryffindor girls, watched me excitedly, with glinting eyes as they sat on the bed opposite of me, awaiting my response.

"What?" I asked in confusion while fixing my hair.

"What's it like to actually date Donald Avery?"

Smugly, I smiled at them. Part two of my plan to make Sirius regret what he did was to date Donald. And Donald agreed immediately to the idea. I got to make Sirius go mad with jealousy and Donald got to rub it in his face- with the new title of the most popular bachelor at Hogwarts. There was also the plus of kissing him in front of Spies.

With the few nice things about dating Donald, I realized I hated every second of it. I didn't actually like him at all. He was annoying, honestly, better at snogging and looking pretty than having a nice personality and holding a conversation. The only reason why I even put up with the guy was because of Sirius. All Sirius ever talked to me about was how bad of a relationship it was and how he couldn't believe it, as if he didn't see that coming when he was sucking Spies' face. He never even brought up his kiss with Spies again, and, much to my relief, he wasn't dating her- or anyone else, for that matter. All he was obsessed with was telling me off for dating Donald, like he was my brother or something.

So he only made me want to date Donald more.

"I'll tell you Mary, it is absolutely wonderful." I lied with a forced smile. Sarah and Rebecca sighed dreamily and I left the dormitories, ready to go to Hogsmeade with Donald for an afternoon date. I knew I would hate the bland conversation we would have over butterbeers or tea, inevitably leading to us snogging somewhere because every word out of his perfect lips made me want to smack my forehead on the table.

I met Donald for our date in the Three Broomsticks and took my seat on the stool next to him as he ordered us a couple of butterbeers. My fingers absentmindedly picked at the pills on my Gryffindor scarf as Donald immediately started to drone on about his rich, pureblood family. To me, the bubbles floating up in my glass of butterbeer were way more interesting than his story about his great uncle who used to teach at Durmstrang.

The bell above the door tinkered as two people stepped inside, stomping the snow off their shoes and walking over to the bar to take a seat next to me. Even before they sat down, I knew who it was- the same people who always crashed my dates. Usually, I would start laughing or twirl my hair and smile at Donald to act like I was having the time of my life, but I continued to zone out, watching Madam Rosmerta while she greeted the duo.

"Two butterbeers, I presume?" Madam Rosmerta smiled at her two usual customers and reached for a couple of bottles under the bar.

"Not today, Rosie." Sirius said with a wink as he plopped down next to me. James nodded at me from the other side of Sirius while using his shirt to wipe the fog off his glasses.

"Come here to crash my date?" I whispered while Donald stopped telling his story.

"Oh no, we didn't come here to ruin your date." James shook his head. "We knew you would be here and we wanted to let you know you have somewhere to be at seven tonight."

"Oh." I realized and looked up at the clock above the bar reading six o'clock. I'd completely forgotten about the full moon! "Sorry Donald, I have to go."
