Annie's POV

Waking up with an imprint of the remote smashed against my cheek and Demi not home, once again, was not the way I intended my day starting off.

Sighing to myself, I opened the fridge and grabbed the sushi out. I devoured that shit before I even could sit down to watch netflix. What can i say? I have a thing for sushi.

You know what i just realized? I didn't talk to Demi all day yesterday or the day before. She never once called or texted or bothered waking me up to say hi when she got home or waking me up before she went to work. It would be nice to know when my mom is going to be home and when she isn't.. but that's just me.

My phone buzzed in my hand, and i looked down to see a text from Wilmer asking for me to get the mail and check to see if something from his producer is there. Slipping my shoes on, i walked out the front door and to the mailbox as a black car drove by. I stopped in my tracks. Why does that car look so familiar? Shrugging, I grabbed the mail and made my way back inside. I lazily texted Wilmer back saying it was in the mail, then laid down on the couch.

I finished all my shows on Netflix.. Checked social media fifty times in the past hour, refreshing for nothing. I'm bored out of my mind.

I settled on watching Pitch Perfect, and when my stomach began to hurt I just assumed it was because of the puking scene. But, the puking scene has never bothered me before and the longer the pain lasted, the more I became certain I was about to get sick.

My palms became sweaty and my heart was racing thinking about the last time my stomach hurt this bad. Waking up in the middle of the night, felt like I was dying, had to get my stomach pumped. Damn antidepressants.

I miss my mommy. She's always here when I don't feel good.

I grabbed my phone and dialed her number, holding my stomach and impatiently waiting for her to answer.

"Hello?" She said, rather impatiently.

"Momma?"

"Yes, what is it?"

"My stomach hurts really bad." I whined. "I think I'm going to get sick."

She sighed. "Well, just go to the bathroom."

I frowned. "Mom, it really, really hurts."

"Have you ate anything today?" She asked.

"The sushi."

It was silent for a second. "All of it?"

"Yeah.."

"Annie! You're not supposed to eat it if you've opened it after three days! And especially not all of it! You're probably not going to throw up, but if you do, it's just because of the sushi."

"Mom.." I silently pleased.

"I'm coming home, baby girl."

I smiled, "Okay."

She hung up the phone, and I got up to go to the kitchen for some tea to settle my stomach.

On the way there, I heard a breeze as if there was a window open. I raised my eyebrow and walked down the hall to the foyer where the front door was wide open like someone just walked in here. I heard footsteps behind me, and I quickly turned around but saw nothing.Through the door, I saw a black car parked in our driveway.

With my heart pounding, I walked outside. Someone is going to be in it. I must've just left the door open when I got the mail. But when I got to the car, and peeked through the window, no one was in it.
