Annie's POV

I slipped on my flannel and turned the curling iron off, my nerves blowing through the roof. I'm so freaking nervous for first day of school. I'm seriously making an ocean of sweat in my shoes.

"Annie!" Demi sang from the bathroom door, "We have to take pictures! Marissa, Madison and Mom are downstairs waiting,"

The only thing that makes today better is that Demi isn't in one of her terrible moods and Madison and I are going to school together so we're not alone.

"I'm coming," I sighed, looking at myself one last time, "How do I look?"

"Absolutely beautiful!" Demi said, giving me a huge hug and a kiss on the forehead.

Last night was the first night I didn't cry about Wilmer not being here. I'm kind of convinced he isn't coming back now. I mean I know it's up to Demi to let him come back, but I at least thought he'd call or text me.

I walked into the foyer with Demi and began taking pictures with Madison, Marissa, Demi, and Dianna. Eventually, it was time to leave. I can't deal.

Marissa tossed me my backpack and I swiftly put it over my shoulder.

"Do you guys have your schedules?" Marissa asked, opening the door for all of us.

I pulled the piece of paper out of my back pocket and shown her as I walked past.

For some reason, im literary trembling with nerves. I'm so scared. What if they don't like me? Or treat me different? Or what if I don't make friends? The only classes I have with Madison are after lunch.

I got in the backseat with Marissa and Madison while Demi and Dianna got in the front.

Here goes nothing.

••

Demi came to a stop in front of the school and I could hear my heartbeat thump in my ears as I stepped out of the car.

"Have fun! Be safe! I love you girls!" Demi called after us.

Marissa and Di said something else, but I didn't hear it because of how nervous I was walking up to the doors.

"Ready?" Madison asked, just as nervous.

"Nope," I said pushing through the doors.

People were everywhere scattering different directions and talking to their friends. I know which hallway mine and Madison's lockers were in, so I pulled her along.

Madison's locker is towards the front and mine is toward the back, so we reached her locker first.

"I'll get us a table a lunch," Madison said, nervously twisting her combination in.

"Okay," I said, "Good luck,"

"You too,"

I went to my locker and put my bag in it. I grabbed a notebook, a folder, and a pencil.

"Hi!" I heard someone chirp from beside me.

I looked over and saw a girl my age with blonde hair beam at me.

"Uh, hey," I nervously smiled.

"You're Annie, right?" She asked.

Oh, I see what this is. She probably wants an autograph from Demi or a discount off of Devonne By Demi.

"Yeah,"

"Hi, I'm Carter. Mr. Pickens wanted me to show you up to our first hour,"

"Oh, okay. Thanks," I smiled, closing my locker.
