TOMMY
"Never!" Em's frightened squeak echoed into the corridor. I drew my sword and sprinted into the room. As I slashed downward at her, her iron sword just barely managed to block my blow in time.
"Surrender. You know the odds are stacked up against you." I sneered and lunged at her. I managed to graze her ribs, and blood trickled out of the wound. But she just winced and glared at me, the fiery determination to kill me blazing like wildfire in her eyes.
"Never!" she repeated and slammed the blade towards my arm. This time, I was unprepared and I did not parry it in time. The sword smashed into my arm and I crumpled to the ground, grabbing my arm in pain. My blood spilled over the chiseled stone floor and Em stared down at me in triumph.
"You might as well kill me. Just do it." I lifted my head with much effort to face her. But in her eyes now were doubt. She wasn't a killer. She wouldn't kill me.
"If you won't kill me, at least get out of here. Let me escape." I plead.
Wordlessly, she turned and left, and I breathed a sigh of relief.
Tommy... You disappoint me. Get through the portal and I will have medics to attend to you.
