The moaning of zombies awoke Aly and me. "Nothing to be afraid of, probably some stray zombies," Aly said anxiously, trying to sound confident but failing miserably.
The dull thuds of arrows on the bark of the tree made us even more nervous. Memories of the night before flashed through my mind. I will not let that happen again.
I try to sit upright and peer out of the window. There were dark shadows everywhere, surrounding the treehouse.
"Holy Notch! What..." Aly was staring out of the window too.
"It's an invasion," I said as I reached into the chest and grabbed my sword.
"We'll have to fight them. They have some sort of commander, definitely," I started to get out of the bed, despite my bad leg. Aly ran out of the room to grab her sword.
I tested my foot on the ground. It should hold for a while. As I stood up, I glanced out of the window and saw dozens of zombies and skeletons, all of them advancing in too perfect a circle for it to be natural.
I limped outside with my sword and Aly met me right at the doorway. Aly went down the ladder first. Then, I took a deep breath and clabered down clumsily.
