Newton rushed about until he found Atticus sitting by the window in another compartment.

"Mr Penmbroke" he called.

"Mr Weekes" Atticus greeted.

"I was just informed something. Is your fiancee a certain Camille Rodriguez?" said Newton.

"Yes she is. How did you find out?" said Atticus.

"My partner and I ran into some people she knows. Is it true that her mother won't let her near anyone because she cares too much about this betrothal she's put her sister into?" Newton asked.

"That's what I've gotten from everything I saw" said Atticus.

"It must have been excruciating for you too watch" said Newton.

"It was. She wants to marry me because she knows I'm treated the same way she is" said Atticus.

"That is kind of her. But why would her mother do this to her?" said Newton.

"Sir, I only know as much as you do. If you want to know what's going on, talk to Camille" said Atticus.

"Oh, of course. Where can I find her?" said Newton.

"Up the sharp end. If her mother's there, run" said Atticus.

"Thank you" said Newton.

Elsewhere, Angelique sat with Henri at a table.

"Angelique? Are you alright?" Henri asked.

"Henri... we are betrothed, and Mamon would be very upset if it were broken. But..." Angelique began.

"But you met someone" Henri guessed.

"Oui. I promised to meet him tonight. If Mamon catches us, she may frighten him. But if I do not meet him tonight... he will be heartbroken" said Angelique.

Henri nodded his head.

"S'il vous plait. You must help me; you are my friend" said Angelique.

Henri took her hand. "My father can't correct his friendship with my mother. But I can prolong my friendship with you."

"So you will help me get away from Mamon?" said Angelique.

"Tell me what to do" said Henri.

Angelique let a tear slide down her cheek. "All I need you to do is not let Mamon or your father know I'm seeing him."

"You can count on me, mon ami" said Henri.
