Angelique and Atticus rushed down the hall, but Newton held Camille back.

"Camille... you're different than other people I know" said Newton.

Camille rolled her eyes. "Just because I have autism."

"Autism means nothing to me. You're different in ways that no one can define" said Newton.

"I suppose that is a... compliment?" said Camille.

"I'll jolly well say it is" said Newton.

"And you are... different than most people I know" said Camille.

"Just because I'm outside your family" said Newton.

"No. No, you as well are... different in ways no one can define" said Camille.

Newton took her hand in his. "D'you suppose there could be something different about us together?"

"I do not know" Camille replied.

Newton sang to her and took her other hand.

When as a child I climbed a hill

And then looked down

How beautiful it was

And though I'd climbed much higher peaks since then

It's never been the same

Not quite the same again

For that time somehow, there was something different

That time somehow, there was something different

Camille: When as a child I saw the sea

For the first time, how beautiful it was

I've seen the sea a thousand times since then

It's never been the same

Not quite the same again

For that time, somehow there was something different

That time, somehow there was something different

both: When the snow melts away

One spring flower appears

Fresher than any flower that blooms throughout the years

You'll go your way and I'll go mine

We'll remember how beautiful it was

And though we'll hear another love's refrain

It won't be the same

Not quite the same again

For this time, somehow, there is something different

This time, somehow, there is something different

"But, Newton, I cannot see myself hearing another love's refrain" said Camille.

"You can't?" said Newton.

"No."

"Why not?"

"You have shown me the meaning of love... and you have shown your love to me" said Camille.

Newton's eyes widened. "Have I?"

"You put my family before your need to acquire money" said Camille.

"Yes I did..." Newton whispered.

"Love is something you earn, you say. And you have earned my love for giving me yours" said Camille.

"Camille..." Newton began.

"I was told that love is showing your empathy and understanding another. Putting their needs before your own. And you have done that to me, Newton" Camille whispered.

These words were both shocking and moving to Newton.

He realized that Camille had learned so much from him and had to express his gratitude for that.

He closed his eyes and connected his lips to hers.

Camille was so happy, she didn't hesitate to kiss back.

When they pulled away, she put on a worried face.

"Quickly. We must let Dudley know we are safe" she said.
