You slept soundly against Laios. Even just by being near his body you could feel how much he was naturally warm, especially now that he wasn't wearing the armor. You can't imagine what his hugs would be like, probably like embracing a big fluffy dog. Turning to your side for some reason you couldn't help but shiver slightly. Since yesterday you kept having this bad feeling in the pit of your stomach.
Like something really bad was about to happen.
It doesn't matter, maybe you were overreacting. The important thing now was to bring Laios and his party back to the surface and then focus on your friend in need of help. Snuggling closer to the blanket you groaned, feeling another breath of cold air on the back of your neck, sending shivers down your back.
Maybe it's because you're near the open window and the cold air is blowing directly on the back of your neck.
Sighing your half-asleep state finally calmed, allowing you to return to dreamland. Too bad though, because if you had been conscious for another couple of minutes maybe you would have noticed a certain mage wake up abruptly, slowly sitting up before making her way toward the window near your head and jumping out of it. Leaving you guys without a word.
Not even Senshi, who had stayed awake to arrange the left over dragon meat, had noticed Falin's disappearance.
Then out of nowhere a loud 'thud!' echoed through the room, surprisingly managing to wake you up. You must be really on edge if even just a simple thud brought you back from dreamland. After all, you were renowned for wasting your party's time as they tried to wake you up in the morning. Stiffly you sat up, feeling the sense of dread coming back before you looked toward the cause of the sound.
"What was that. . .?" Chilchuck asked, rolling over you guys and opening his eyes, still sleepy. Laios quickly looked over the edge, noticing Kensuke just laying on the floor "It looks like my sword toppled over" he said, getting a clear groan from the half-foot at the false alarm "You should just tie that thing down"
Laios sighed, picking up his sword before his golden eyes noticed your presence "Ah-Did I wake you up? I'm very sorry" he said with an apologetic tone. You just shook your head, waving him off. You were already having sleep problems on your own anyway. "No, no, don't worry cap. I–" your words were cut off when your eyes accidentally wandered towards the bed where Marcille and Falin were sleeping, noticing the lack of a certain girl.
Laios followed your line of vision, narrowing his eyes in confusion at the empty spot where his sister should be sleeping "Falin?" he called before getting out of bed and walking toward the blonde elf "Marcille. What happened to Falin?" He asked, shaking his friend awake.
The blonde elf rolled around, still half asleep "What?" she managed to say, rubbing her eyes trying to wake up. It was clear that she was unaware of the whole affair and had no idea what had happened. Jumping out of bed, you quickly looked inside the kitchen, where Senshi was still busy arranging the dragon meat "Hey Senshi, have you seen where Falin went?" you asked, leaning an hand on the door frame. A sudden sensation of dread washed over you, painfully hitting your intestine. The dwarf turned in your direction, shaking his head in confusion "Nobody passed here though"
