The sweet moment of comfort was almost immediately swiped up by screams, sounds of carnage and weapons clashing with each others. Laios was the first to break the hug, grabbing you by the shoulders and drawing your attention on him "We've got more important things to do!" he said with a serious expression "____, you've gotta stop those monsters out there right away" at his request you looked away, rubbing your cheek in discomfort. “Even if I do that… I’m sure everyone is pretty pissed off at what I did… they’ll definitely end up killing you.”

You gripped your sword tight, the weight of your actions was slowly starting to become clearer and the consequences attached to them were making you more and more uneasy. "Hey, hey, you don't have to worry about that. We'll find a way so that it doesn't happen, okay?" Laios placed a hand on your shoulder, flashing you a small smile "You're not alone anymore, remember? Namari and Shuro will help us out, too"

You considered his words before nodding reluctantly, a small, tired smile broke across your lips, trying to replicate the same warmth as the blond's "You're right. I trust you guys. I'll try to do what I can." You closed your eyes, trying to focus on the monsters that dotted the battlefield. With an authoritative tone you commanded them to silence their advance. Out of nowhere the only sounds you could hear were the screams of the adventurers but the heavy footsteps or growls of the monsters ceased. "Did it work?" you asked, opening one eye.

Chilchuck leaned against the window, looking down from it. "It looks like it—GHAAAA!" The half-foot's words were cut off when suddenly a blaze of red-hot fire almost burned his face. "They're not stopping at all!" Marcille screeched in horror. You too began to freak out, grabbing your head with both hands and gritting your teeth. “Ah! Stop you stupid monsters! Why the hell are you going on about!? Stupid! Stupid things!”

As you were running back and forth in panic Laios felt something slimy wrap around his arm. When he looked down his golden eyes landed on Kensuke, some small pink tentacles wrapped around his arm completely "Winged Lion!" he exclaimed, catching your attention with that name that made an involuntary 'That fucker!' escape your lips. "I was wondering why you were staying so quiet. . .this is your doing, isn’t it!?" Laios narrowed his eyes, looking at the lion in the emblem.

The demon chuckled "I'm simply fulfilling their desires" he explained innocently. "So why aren't the monsters stopping!?" the blonde elf asked, holding her staff tight in her hands. The lion closed his eyes as he let out a hum "That's because they are still afraid" at the sudden jab you couldn't help but flinch, taking a step back "'If I surrender, the elves will kill my party.' This concern of yours is deep in your core and therefore the monsters are reacting according to that wave of fear and are doing everything they can to protect them"

A bead of sweat run down your forehead as you looked away, taking hold of your chestplate and nervously tugging it "No. . .That's not true. I know my friends can handle it . . .I. . ." and yet the more you spoke, the more you felt that what you were saying was in stark contrast to what was happening outside. "This is ridiculous! Are you telling them that they have to suppress their subconscious desires too?" Laios glared down at his sword, a frown stitched on his lips.

You tore your tired gaze away from the demon, dropping to your knees as the tome rolled from your grasp. “So… all of this is pointless? If I can't suppress my subconscious desires…” ironic, this was all ironic. You went to great lengths to avoid the end of the world only to have it backfire. It's all your fault.
