Author's Note: Without this note, this chapter is almost four thousand words. I can't believe it. It took me a long time to write it because I was listening to the album as I wrote it and I just kept getting so caught up in it that I would forget that I was supposed to be writing about it too.
I also got a little carried away with Y/N's reaction to stay a little longer because I based it on the first time I heard it, kinda. Y/N cries a lot in this chapter but I think that's understandable considering the album has a lot of songs to cry to.
I hope you enjoy this one. It took me two and a half hours to write and I cried while listening to the album the entire time. I worked very hard on this one so I hope it turned out well.
------------------------------------
This was it.
You've been waiting for so long for this day to come when you would finally hear your girlfriend's album for the very first time.
She's letting you be the first to listen to it now that it is complete and ready to be heard.
"I want you to be the first to hear it because you're the most important person in the world to me. Are you ready, my love?" She asked as her finger hovered over the first song on the album, number one girl.
"I'm ready." You said with a smile and your heart was racing as she hit play.
You took a breath and her voice filled your ears right away.
But the lyrics of the song were quite sad and you knew you were going to be in for a rollercoaster of emotions tonight.
"Tell me that I'm special, tell me I look pretty, tell me I'm a little angel, the sweetheart of your city." She sang and those few first lines already had you feeling many emotions.
And when the chorus came on, oh your heart shattered.
You've been dating Rosie for about a year and she was quick to reassure you that all of the sad songs on her album were about a past love and not about anything she's ever felt about you that way your mind wouldn't wander when you listened to the album.
She's in a better place now and feels more loved and in love, than she could've ever imagined she could feel.
But it was devastating to know that she felt this way in the past and that someone had broken her heart so much.
You had to fight to hold back the tears because there were still eleven songs left on the album and you were only on the first, you couldn't start crying yet.
But she saw the tears in your eyes and she reached over to squeeze your knee as the song ended.
"What did you think about the first one?" She wondered.
"Oh, baby, it's beautiful but also so incredibly sad." You told her as you took her hands into yours. "I'm so sorry for everything you've had to go through. You deserve so much better."
"I know and I've found that." She smiled and caressed your cheek. "Let's go to the next one. It's called 3am."
"I just saw a red flag, gonna pretend I didn't see that. 'Cause is it really, really that bad? I need you really, really that bad." She sang and yet again, the words hit you like a knife to your heart.
How did she manage to express her feelings and emotions so beautifully?
She was incredibly talented and you only felt more awestruck by her.
"The one I run to, take my makeup off and say goodnight to. The one I pretty talk and ugly cry to. The world can roll their eyes but it's no use. I just want it to be you."
