Family Time

**** Ellie's P.O.V ****

"So how was dinner and the party last night?" Mom asked as me, her, Lisa and Sofia sat at the patio

"It was nice, a surprise but fun" I answered with a smile

"Come on Ellie, that's the hardest my son has worked for a girl and that's all your gonna tell me about it?" Lisa asked with a playful glare

I knew they were all dying for me to give them every detail of my dinner with Noah and what he ended up doing, but I felt like that was a special time for just us. They all knew he had something romantic planned but nobody knew that he serenaded me or about the promise ring.

"He was a gentlemen and we had a great time together. It was all very romantic." I said not giving anything away

"Im dying to know what he bought you, I know he spent quite a bit on it because Vince went with him and couldn't stop talking about how he would never spend that much on a girl, but when I asked him he said I had to wait and see." Sophie said

I was currently wearing the ring on a necklace around my neck because we were going to be swimming and I didn't want to take a chance and lose it, but I had worn it to the hospital this morning and no one had noticed it.

"Soo..." Sophie said looking at me expectantly

"So what?" I asked pretending I didn't know what she was talking about

"What did he give you?"

"What did who give her?" Noah asked standing behind me with his hands on my shoulders

"You, we're trying to get her to tell us about dinner and what you gave her for her birthday but she's not saying much." Mom said sending me a playful glare

"Dinner was amazing and I gave her this" Noah told them holding up my right hand

"Her hand?" Sophie asked confused while I chuckled

"hey where is it?" he asked with a hurt expression

"right here" I said taking the necklace off and handing it to Sofie

"I didn't want to take a chance losing it while we swim so I put it on the necklace"

"This is so pretty, good job brother" Sophie told him handing it to mom

"Is there something engraved inside?" Mom asked

"Yup" Noah answered

"Endlessly, is it supposed to mean something?" Lisa asked with a huge grin

This is why I didn't want to talk about it, that was something special that I didn't want to share, last night was definitely a night I will always cherish.

They we're all looking at me, waiting to hear the meaning behind that one word but I didn't want to tell them.

"Yeah, it means a lot." I replied looking up at Noah and giving his hand a small squeeze

"I guess that's all we're going to get out of her, she's never been one to talk about things that mean a lot to her." Mom said giving me the necklace back.

"Are we going to swim or what?" Vince asked as he came over and put me over his shoulder

"Vince, I swear you better put me down night now!" I yelled smacking his back

"Not a chance!" He said as he jump into the pool with me

"your so going to regret that!" I told him as I reached the surface and pulled myself out of the water
