Can't Catch a Break

****Noah's P.O.V.****

Turning in my sleep I reach out to wrap my arm around El and pull her closer but instead meet an cold empty bed.

"El?" I call sitting up and rubbing the sleep from my eyes

I get off the bed checking my phone for the time to see I have several missed calls from Melissa, I decide to make sure El is okay before calling her back, glancing at the time I realize I've been asleep a lot long than I thought and hope that Ellie got enough rest.

"Ellie?" I call knocking on the bathroom door only to be met once again by silence

I peek in to find it empty so I leave the room making my way downstairs.

"Ellie! Are you down here?" I call once I'm almost at the bottom of the stairs

"She's not here." Sofi informs me walking out of the kitchen

"Where is she?" I ask as worry floods through me

"I don't know, didn't she tell you she was leaving? She wasn't here when I got back." She shrugged making her way to the living room with me trailing behind

"No she didn't say anything." I frown checking my phone one more time to make sure I hadn't missed a call or text from her

"Don't worry, I'm sure she'll be home soon." She said turning on the t.v. and flipping through the channels

"I hope your right." I sigh plopping down next to her

"She's not going to just leave you like that, you two are going to have a baby together, plus she loves you." She said after we sat in silence for a few minutes

I just nodded keeping my eyes locked on the T.V. trying to keep my mind from thinking the worst.

"Has Mel tried calling you?" I ask Sofi after about an hour of sitting there watching some reality show Sofi had put it on

"Yeah, but I didn't get to my phone on time, she didn't leave a message though so it must not have been important." She shrugged her eyes still trained on the show

"She's call me at least ten time, I have a feeling something bad is heading my way but I don't know if it has to do with Ellie or Mel." I frown going to my recent calls and debating whether or not to call Mel back

"So call her and see what she wants."

I nod dialing her number and getting up to leave the room so I don't bother Sof.

"Noah! Oh God I'm so glad you called, I'm in the hospital." She answers before I can get a word in

"The hospital!?! Why? What happened?" I question dreading the answer

"I fell down some stairs, the baby's fine but they're putting me on bed rest until they know for sure nothing will go wrong." She said her voice quivering towards the end

"But everything's okay?"

"For now, but I was hoping you could come pick me up from the hospital when they release me and stay with me for a while."

"I'm not in New York Mel, I flew back to Texas yesterday." I sighed rubbing my forehead

"Well can't you just get the first flight back? Please I don't have anyone else I can call." She took on a desperate tone

"I have a lot going on right now, can't you stay with your parents and I'll get a flight back once I get everything settled here." I suggested

I might have sounded insensitive but I needed to find Ellie, who still wasn't back, and talk to her about our baby before I could leave and not know if she would be here when I got back.
