Wedding plans

Noah and I had finally set the exact date for the wedding, I knew I wanted it close to Christmas but he didn't think it was a good idea, in the end I won. December the 14th was the official day and we were running out of time to get everything ready.

"Why don't you just hire a wedding planner?" Noah groaned

We had been making decision about the wedding for the last three hours and it was started to drain us, who knew wedding planning would be so hard.

"We have a wedding planner back in New York, she's the one that had your mom send us all the samples. It's our wedding so we have to make the decisions she's just there to point us in the right direction." I sighed

"Look we already agreed on the color scheme and tux as well as narrowed down the wedding and reception venues, and picked out the invitations can't we take a break and come back to it tomorrow?" He asked with pleading eyes

"Fine, just let me finish writing how I want my bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids and I'll be done, you go and watch TV or whatever and I'll make us lunch when I'm finished." I said going back to my planning

"You sure? You won't be mad if I leave you." He asked

"No, it's fine you actually helped me get a lot done." I smiled

"Alright, then I'll be in the living room." He smiled standing up and placing a kiss on the top of my head as he exited the kitchen

I was just finishing up when my phone started ringing, I sighed when I saw it was Lisa and took a deep calming breath before answering.

"Hey Lisa." I answered

It's not that I don't like her or anything but she's been calling everyday upset that nothing has really gotten done, hopefully our progress today will be enough to get her off my back.

"Hi sweetie I was just calling to see if you and Noah have made any decisions about the wedding " She Saud getting straight to the point

"I actually just finished sending you an email with everything we decided on today."

"Great, I'll get it to Francesca right away so she can get started on that. You need to come back soon so we can go cake tasting and so you can check out the venues." She reminded me

"I'll have to talk to Noah about going back, I'll let you know what we decided." I sighed, I really wasn't ready to go back, even if it was just for a visit

"Well I was hoping you could come this FrIday so you could have your engagement pictures taken."

"That's three days from now, I'm not sure we can do that. Can't we just take our pictures here, it would save a lot of time." I suggested

"Fran has already set up an appointment for the two of you on Saturday morning and it would be rude to cancel after they went out of their way to fit you into their busy scheduled."

"I'll talk to Noah and see what we can do, I'll call you later tonight." I said with a frown

"Sound good, I'll talk to you soon " She said hanging up before I could say anything

I piled all everything together and put it in the middle of the table so I could take it to my room later. I went through our pantry and fridge to see what we had to eat, I wasn't too hungry to I cut up some fruit and put it in a bowl for me while I made Noah a meatball sub.

"Noah!" I called out setting him plate and drink on the table before grabbing my bowl of fruit and a bottle of water

"It smells good." He complimented as he walked into the kitchen and sat next to me

"Thanks." I smiled

"So did you email my mom about everything we decided on?" He asked after taking a bite

"Yeah, she called while I was emailing her." I answered in between bites

"What did she say?"

"She wants us to go back this weekend so we can checkout the venues and do cake tasting, she also said they scheduled a photo shoot on Saturday for our engagement pictures." I replied trying to sound like I was okay with it

"We're gonna have to go back at some point Ellie, even if we decide to live here my parents are there and my dad's business." He said putting his food down and giving me his full attention

"I know, I guess I need to just go back and get it over with." I sighed

"Baby, things are different this time, it will be good for us to go back and make your New York experience a positive one." He said grabbing my hands

"Fine, but I really don't want to take engagement pictures, can you see if you can get your mom to call that off." I said giving him my best puppy dog face

"Why not? Don't girls love doing all that when they get married."

"Most girls do but it would just be awkward for us, we just started dating and we aren't even really engaged." I sighed

"So you would want to do it if this was real?"

"I don't know, the idea of someone taking pictures of us kissing and being lovey dovey is just weird to me." I explained

"I'll see what I can do but she might just reschedule it, these are things that are important to her."

"I get it, I do, they're memories that we'll have to share with our kids if we ever get to that point, but it's just not something I'm comfortable with."

"I'll talk to her." He said as he finished he food and took his plate to the sink

Our future is something that Noah and I can't talk about without one of us getting hurt or angry and I knew he was one of those things right now, maybe both but I was just being honest.

I finish my fruit and rinsed the dishes before sticking them in the dishwasher, I grabbed all the wedding stuff and my laptop and took it upstairs before I went back down and dealt with Noah.
