Kerr initially texted Elle just to see how she's doing and if he can come over to visit her. He waited and
waited but she did not reply to his texts. He didn't know that her cellphone was damaged in the
accident; therefore he assumed that she didn't want to see him at all. One day, he drove by at Elle's
home with the intention of visiting her. But the sight of Elle sitting on a wheelchair, staring at the
fountain made him change his mind. Instead he felt so ashamed of himself for causing Elle to end up
like this and shred his heart into little pieces.
He wanted to run and comfort her.
Tell her how much he still loves her.
That he's sorry for breaking her heart.
And he wants another chance.
That this time, he will be true to his word. To love no one except her.
But he needs to confess his sins, all of it to Elle. He tried so many times to rehearse what he's going to
say but he just doesn't know how to and where to start.
"Will she believe me if I tell her that I never loved Carrie at all? That despite the things that we did
together, I didn't feel the happiness that I felt when she said yes to me?"
Kerr couldn't find the answer to his questions. With a heavy heart, he drove away.
---------
It's past midnight.
Elle is wide awake. She pretends that this just a nightmare that she can always wake up...that the
accident never occurred. She would oftentimes touch her right leg, wishing that she will find it... only
to be disappointed. She sobs quietly in her room, asking:
"WHY?"
The next weeks proved to be very challenging for Elle and her immediate family. She refused to eat
and wouldn't leave her room. She's deeply hurt about what happened to her and her relationship
with Kerr. Just the thought that he didn't even bother to show interest on her well-being was too
much for Elle.
She will never knew that Kerr went to see her but lost the courage to speak to her, and that he still
loves her, despite the things she now knew.
Then one day, Elle asked if she can take a shower. It brought smiles to everybody's faces... because
it's a good sign.
Elle is on the road to recovery.
