The elders and the village healers were gathered around a big fire one cold night in Kingali. They were

discussing the condition of the engineer.

" He needs to come back soon. "

" Yes, '' they replied in unison.

The Kingali man who rescued the engineer was also there. " What will happen if he won't wake up

soon, Kuruku?" The village healer did not answer his question. Instead, he threw to the fire a remnant

of the bloodied clothing that the engineer wore that day. Then he said ambiguously:

"He is travelling and can always see what he is looking for. That's why he doesn't want to come back."

Elle has started packing but when she came to the little box that contain her mementoes, she

started  sobbing and weeping. She was grieving for Kerr and the second chance that slipped

away from them. The spirit stroked her hair to comfort her but she neither can see nor feel his

touch.  He can see candy wrappers with hearts on it, the replicas of his own candy wrappers

tucked away in his bedroom. Souls don't weep but he does.

The emotional turmoil has taken its toll on Elle.  The spirit doesn't want to leave her. He was watching

Elle sleeping. He approached her right side and sat beside her. He was looking at her longingly. Then

he kissed the tip of her nose. Elle felt something cold touched her nose. She woke up and saw Kerr's

 face.

"Kerr, where have you been? I was waiting for you." He did not reply.

Elle gave him a hug and said: "I always love you. Please come back and don't leave me again."

These same words woke her up. " Kerr! Kerr!" She was alone in the room.

Allison was awakened by Elle's  voice, calling out for Kerr.

" He was here with me Allison. He kissed the tip of my nose!."

" You're dreaming Elle. Kerr is not here. He is in Zimbabwe.''

Elle is now hysterical. " No, Allison. He was here," she insisted. Allison comforted Elle until she

stopped crying and went back to sleep.

" How can I leave you like this?"

In Kingali, the village men were startled by a shout from one of the children. The engineer is awake.
